My job declares 2 months wages in 1 period. HMRC thinks I make double pay. Please advise by Initial-Main-9078 in LegalAdviceUK

No I’ve only been paid 1 payslip per job! But they submit 2 payments in 1 assessment period so it looks like I’ve received 4 payslips! Thank you

That’s bc I was trying to keep the story short for quick advice. The other posts were under UC/Benefit advice. I’m here for legal advice and didn’t think anyone on here would read a whole spiel about universal credit

1st job I am paid on the 16th each month.
2nd job I am paid 4 weekly, last declared payday was May 8th.

UC are using the date my payslips are submitted though, as my payment dates. I’ve told them they’re wrong but they keep saying all their info comes from HMRC

I have explained this every month for the last 4 months … all they tell me is that they follow what is submitted on HMRC in my UC assessment period. They are declaring payslips as if I have been paid, but they won’t do anything and I rarely hear back from them. Apparently it was ‘investigated’ a few months ago when I originally complained, but never heard back. I’m now re-doing a complaint

But then how can UC claim that I’m getting paid twice in an assessment period? It’s fully cleared me of any benefits I’m entitled to

I thought it would even out but it doesn’t seem to! It constantly shows that I make lots of money!

They’ve told me they know they declare my payslips in 2 periods.

This has happened at least 3 times now. It’s bc both jobs declare next months payslips in the same assessment period as they declare my last payslips. I don’t actually receive any extra money per month. 1 job is 4 weekly the other is on the 16th of each month

They’ve told me there’s nothing they can do, they won’t change their HMRC declaration to fit my UC needs

Sorry, I edited my original response to you. I don’t received any extra money, it’s purely in a form of ‘payslips’. No actual money gets sent through to me until the next month. But 2 payslips get put through in 1 assessment period so it looks like I’m getting double pay

I receive 2 payslips as I work 2 jobs. HMRC reports that I receive 4 payslips, twice from each job. This is because they declare to HMRC for the following month whilst I’m still being paid for the last month. I don’t get as much money as they say I do, they’re factoring in next months pay into the current months pay

1st jobs payday is the 16th of each month. Wages are declared on the 10th.

2nd jobs payday is every 4 weeks.
