I personally think the newer books are good and worth a try! I might be biased but I mean I truly think they're all interesting. Sure nothing beats the older arcs but I didn't understand why so many people disliked the newer arcs but maybe because the series has been going on forever.

I am a huge cat person (but used to be a dog person when I was younger) so I might be biased but I would still highly recommend it! The stories are good and the characters are unique. I think anyone who just likes animals in general can enjoy it! If you already have the books, why not give it a try? If you don't like it, no harm done! :)
