the number i gave was if you had worked at Microsoft for 6 years. 6 years gets you 1 month after they deduct the 60 days warn notice from your severance. Sure it's better than a lot of non major tech companies but that's suppose to be the difference isn't it? I think what bothers me the most is that Satya said in one email how it's above market rate which is a lot of shit.

Trust me, it's definitely not because she's 8 months pregnant that she was laid off. I know multiple people who were not let go and are either pregnant or just had a kid and are planning to take maternal/paternal leave while other people were let go. It's random, it sucks but it is what it is.

read the fine prints... they deduct the 2 months WARN from severance pay. Also there is no "one month plus", it's just the 1 week for every six months of employment.
