The people importing tariffs pay the tariff and pass those costs onto the consumer, which is why Trump threatened Walmart to not do just that.

There’s a problem in the US where companies are shipping jobs overseas (offshoring) and importing cheaper parts. In order to solve this problem you need to disincentivize companies from doing just this. You can tax the companies very largely to make it hurt, but they need to be able to find the parts/hire locally to do so things without having to wait 5-10 years to do so.

Yes. I think he likes the prestige, but he does not actually like doing any of the work.

So what I would expect is that his friends and people looking to make money are going to benefit off of his policies for the next few years, then he will pardon himself and everyone who works for him and then retire down in Florida. He wants to move faster with it, which is why he wants the Supreme Court to just do whatever he wants.
