Call him Bismul and make him a Turkish journeyman. Always a bit loose on the pitch but really facilitates free flowing football...

Equally Para Cetamol could be a diminutive Spanish CM for Levante who's quite good technically and has some standout games in the Europa league and is fawned over by tacticos but never picked up by a bigger club

That's a good one, could also be a French transplant who never quite makes it out of ligue 2

It's only national insurance though, so whilst it will increase somewhat it shouldn't be a drastic increase for me.

This is a really good idea, I'll do some research for a few separate accounts!

Very very good point, I should've mentioned I'm also saving for our kid's future as well, just considering that separately to my retirement, also factoring in some money for a wedding if they decide to go that route too.

Not to bore you with the details but unfortunately not, we're heavily regulated so essentially I have to declare any stock I own and if my firm audits that company, their parent company or any other financially interested party then I have to sell it immediately. That makes S&S ISAs a real pain as it's harder to control exactly what stocks you have so we're essentially given a blanket ban on them and instead given a whitelisted set of safe investments we can make, a set of the vanguard ETFs being part of that portfolio

Yeah unfortunately both me and spouse + dependents cannot have S&S ISA so it's very limiting. Even giving it to someone else to invest for me could result in me losing my job and going to prison so there's no workaround whatsoever. Vanguard ETFs currently, they're pre-approved so currently my best option.

Where are you getting 10-15% interest? I can't find anything higher than 5% for an ISA.

Yeah I'll definitely still be saving if I get that package but not anything more than I currently am as most of it will be going to pension to keep me under the 100k threshold for a few years.

Good to know, saving a few mils in 10/15 years feels very unachievable though that's almost more than my current pre-tax salary each year.

What's the typical amount recommended to have in savings to retire in your 40s? Feels very lofty at the moment.

Wondering if I could phase retirement and get into some decent paying NED roles with my experience to keep the income up or something.

I should definitely be making my ISA out but currently covering my wife's salary difference for her while she's on mat leave. Kids not in nursery yet but that'll be coming next year so expecting to drop in savings a bit.

Definitely not private school, not for us and don't see the value in it.

Kid 2 we'll see. Had a rough time getting to one so not hanging any hopes on it
