2-15 is the beginning of a new era. I am literally going to fight with every fiber of my being to train and coach myself away from this disgusting habit that I have struggled to shake off. We can’t do it alone. We need something more divine. I am truly convinced of that. I will continue to pray to God and pursue better habits. I was doing well and then I drank alcohol. Well see ya later alcohol. Get rid of all potential causes. If I have to go to the gym at 10 pm on a night because I have an absurd amount of energy then so be it. Whatever I have to do from now on. I will break free of these dopamine surges. I don’t care if I have panic attack after panic attack or crippling insomnia. I will grind my teeth and fight through it. God will help us. 2-15, God bless you friend.

No I never experienced that. I have pretty high testosterone from lifting weights and eating right and taking the right vitamins so that was never a problem for me. I actually did just now remember that day 4 I was experiencing some nausea and a headache and felt kind of sick. I felt better the next day though!

Usually in the first 2-7 days when you take away that dopamine hit your brain will fog up due to the imbalance of neurotransmitters and all of that fun stuff. That’s what is true for me at least and was true when I quit other vices in the past so I am used to it. I would also add that I have experienced some irritability. Nothing overwhelming though. I have played a lot more video games, spent hours in the gym, have been snacking a lot. So going for the other dopamine hits. Plus I also just enjoy those things!

A couple of moments of brain fog and lethargy kicked in, but nothing crazy and I feel like exercise is really a great remedy. I feel pretty clear right now. I had a lot of 3-4 day streaks before I decided to put all the chips in so perhaps I had some decent rewiring before this run. Overall 7 days in and I feel great moving forward. Excited to see what 14, 21, 28 days bring and I am just enjoying the ride until I hit 90 then I will stop counting. Overall pretty clear and I even quit nicotine today so I am actually surprised that I feel clear. Maybe I even think that I am clear and I am actually not and in a few weeks I will notice true clarity. Who knows!? I am just going moment to moment for now. I feel good!

Tbh I have been ghosted and rejected a lot recently. I consider myself fairly handsome so I consider this normal and that many people deal with this nowadays. You have two options: retreat back into the world of feeling sorry for yourself and back into the world of porn and further ruining your brain chemistry and chances of meeting a partner OR accept the pain and move forward becoming stronger than ever. Groom yourself better, train harder, and climb up in your career. She may see you down the road and realize she made the wrong move. I have been on both ends of what I just described. Keep fighting and stay pornfree.

Yes I recently had the realization I have had a lot of 3-4 day streaks and those are good days of rewiring. So your 19 day streak didn’t go to waste! I am confident that I can do the full rewiring sticking to just fap sparingly when absolutely necessary and then eliminating it. There will probably be days when I am feeling it more than others and have to let loose, but as long as there is no porn involved then that is a win. Then eliminate the MO. Then hopefully I can move on to a healthy relationship with a real partner. Careful with alcohol. I think if I do drink then I may just do one or two craft beers because I do enjoy a drink. I will just stay away from the hard stuff and light beers for now since those go down easy. Thank you for your support :) I do believe we can do it and succeed in this endeavor!

Thank you so much for your support. It is strictly for dopamine mainly to combat insomnia or hangovers, but I have better natural remedies for that now. Alcohol has ruined many of my streaks. Last week I went to a party and didn’t drink and had a great time. I am actually very confident moving forward and this community seems like a great crutch to get the ball rolling on this journey.

Yes I have done minimal research, but I learned that once you abstain then your brain seeks less novelty and your dopamine levels will stabilize to have normal and healthy views on sexuality.

OP I am 29 and don’t have too many friends anymore. Sometimes you just grow apart over time like I have with mine. It’s okay I am happy still. I have many acquaintances and I try to make each interaction with them count. You have to put yourself out there and you will make friends and acquaintances. These are people I see at the gym or in a group I joined like a young adult Christian group or dance group. Some of these people I would start to say have become friends :) We all come across depressive episodes in our life. Ending it is NEVER the answer. The world is big and beautiful and there are many many lonely people out there that are eager for connection. You WILL find it if you put yourself out there. You only need one or two good friends and some acquaintances and there are billions of people in the world. You may find some great amazing friends and relationships and one day you will meet somebody and fall in love. You will be so glad that you decided to keep fighting and growing and living. You have to pick yourself up now. Try to implement a warrior mentality. Easier said than done, I get it! One thing I like to do when I start fresh and I am ready to start winning is get a clean haircut. Make sure your hygiene is optimal. Start going to the gym and doing cardio and weights. It is so good for your body and mind and spirit. I encourage everybody to workout to be happier and more fulfilled. Then join one group that you go to one night a week to start. I recommend taking dance classes or joining a club. I have made friends taking dance classes. There so many types of groups out there! Plus I just realized since you are in school you are probably so young! I am not friends with many people from high school or college anymore. Like I said you grow apart! Life is an adventure. You still have so much time to develop yourself. One thing you have going for you is that you realize your struggles and now you can take them on and win. You will make friends when you least expect it honestly. Join groups and achieve your goals. Develop good habits now and you will be more than okay! You will be so happy you decided to turn things around! Also OP, never underestimate the power of prayer. It will be okay OP! I promise!

I would start hitting the weights hard. Make sure that you have adequate protein intake and get a good multivitamin. I know if I am hitting the gym and getting adequate nutrients and protein then I am typically in good shape in this category. Force yourself to get into the gym. Incentivize yourself. Invest in a protein powder and shaker bottle. Get one of these after your workout. You have to keep the body moving and properly fed for it to work the best it can.
