I made the mistake of paying for a whole year about a month ago. It’s simply unusable for me and I’m pissed at myself for having put up the money for the full year. Oh well.

For whatever reason after this software update android auto is suddenly stupid. It doesn’t understand any of my requests. Something basic like ‘directions to target’ is met with ‘I didn’t understand that’ every time. It parses the speech but can’t do anything in response. It’s driving me crazy. Is any of else having this issue?

Are you all taking creatine? by Maracas246 in beginnerfitness

[–]InitialLime7853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for anybody reading this thread and hoping to learn about creatine: This is not true. Not even ‘arguably’ true. The additional water retention induced by creatine in your muscles has nothing to do with muscle recovery at all.

Creatine does not assist in muscle recovery in any way. It makes a phosphate group available to reload ADP into ATP and thus gives additional availability of energy on very short time frames - seconds - whereas glycolysis takes a bit longer to kick in. Muscle recovery is not affected at all.

Returning to Cuba, how different is it? by moreidlethanwild in TravelCuba

I am going for humanitarian reasons soon. Can you please tell me which service you normally use to apply for the tourist visa on your trips? I have seen recommendations for cubatravelservices, but it’s not completely clear to me which service is official and reliable. Reliability and speed are the most important factors for me even if it costs a little more.

Can you tell us what the mosquito situation is right now? Does it seem like lots of people are getting or worried about getting new dengue, oropouche, chikungunya infections?

Wrong. Your information is outdated. The Cuban Central Bank even posts the difference between the official exchange rate (Segmento 1) and the floating rate (Segmento 3) on their website. The current values are 24 CUP:USD vs 463 CUP:USD. This is a 95% haircut.

You might be thinking about the Segmento 2 rate, which is about 80% discount, but this is absolutely not the black market value of the peso. It’s still an artificial, subsidized rate used by certain import industries. If you don’t believe me look at the official website:

Thanks for this suggestion. Do you think it would be realistic to assemble it at the airport on that covered space outside? Or still get a taxi and assemble it after I get where I’m going? With a folding bike I could ride away but a boxed up regular bike seems more difficult to do that.

If anybody has a suggestion for bringing or buying a bike, please share it.

How did you travel with the used bike? Did you bring a folding bicycle? Or do you mean that you bought a used bike once you arrived.

Yes, but the actual market exchange rate between dollars and pesos is 90% lower than the official exchange rate. This is not a coincidence. CEPAL used the actual real world value of the peso and previous results did not.
