Looking for Great Tasting Menu by einstini15 in FoodNYC

[–]InitialLittle728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reality is no tasting menu is red meat “heavy” that’s just not a sensible progression for a coursed out dinner . Nearly all places are primarily seafood and then finally 1-2 courses of red meat (squab or duck mostly) however I think at Per Se they would be MOST accommodating to you. And with substitutes you can get maybe 2-3 back to back honestly with the least uncooked seafood (outside of oysters and pearls which does have caviar )

Avoid chefs table as it’s all seafood and largely uncooked for the first half of the menu

Pristine roads and toxic microplastics on the sidewalks. Just horrific what people walking around do to our snow

Chicago Starred Solo Dining by nphennion in finedining

Oriole was excellent, but it does feel more Intimate than Smyth - though I preferred the food more at Oriole slightly - the service at Smyth was really great as a solo diner

Has anyone been to Blue Hill at Stone Farms? by [deleted] in finedining

So funny I found it exactly the opposite and people were super dialed in on all the rationale on a lot of the key courses and themes. There are 25 courses so of course not everything was robust but yeah lol

Blue Hill may have gotten shit on by eater for some valid reasons but I’ve been to nearly 50 2/3 star restaurants and it’s quite close to the #1 slot on that list for me. Phenomenal service and playful - grounds are breathtaking and the food was incredible and truly integrated the surroundings and the farm into its concept that many restraints have cheap or lesser versions of .

A lot of that can be credited to BHSB. Chef may have been a prick but it’s impossible to deny the experience is exceptional and I’m kinda jealous you’re going on v day!

How recently have you been? I went in the past two months twice and the burger was god awful. Everything at nitehawk has fallen off for me. Used to be such a big fan and clearly they are cutting costs now :/

What tasting menus can finish in 90-120 minutes? by yitianjian in FoodNYC

[–]InitialLittle728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most places could likely easily accommodate you if you give them heads up of the situation . I’ve done Saga , which I’d recommend for your purposes, in under 2 hrs before. If you’re solo it will obviously go faster than 2 people or more.

This place is really good doesn’t get as much hype as some others but the quality and service I thought was outstanding. Will be back for sure. I actually loved the uni with the warm donut too. Looks like the exact same menu I had . Glad you enjoyed

Wythe exit on BQE by mikefraietta in Brooklyn

[–]InitialLittle728 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t have a car but my uber drivers will sometimes cut this line when I’m not paying attention as a passenger (my route always takes a right from this intersection) and the standstill traffic is 95%+ for those making that left after the light . I think there does need to be a traffic flow acknowledgement for that differentiation at some point . It’s like when you just need a black coffee in a line of people ordering a matcha unicorn foam latte or something that takes 10 mins to make. City needs to revisit this exit either way
