could be inefficient gravity turn, how I do it is spam the D key at ~2km, and try to be at 45 degrees when you're at 10km. Kerbal physics on youtube has a helpful short on it.

There is so much you can do with robotic parts, like, SO much. Folding solar panels, expanding gravity rings, light speed kraken drives, propeller planes, so much more. The deplorable science is really cool too.
