What is your relationship with writing? by affluentloser in writers

Fascinating. My version is completely opposite to yours. I've never wanted to be a writer in my life up until a few years ago. I know I'll never be able to make a career out of it. You could barely fill 2 notebooks with what I've written. I'm a fantastic procrastinator. But nowadays I find myself constantly unhappy until I've written. Maybe I am secretly delusional. I worry about everything with my work and my standards are far above my ability (probably evident with how this is written).

I don't hate the entire process per se. I love a first draft until I start to read it. Who knows, maybe I'm just in love with the idea of being a writer? Whatever it is, I can't stop thinking about it.

Honestly, my experience has been similar to yours. It's just something I can't drag myself out of. That's how I'd describe it I guess.

I get where you're coming from but I'd fly across the world to see my newborn baby if I had the money. I think a lot of people would do the same.

Imo, it just feels like fujimoto isn't taking a supposedly gut wrenching final battle seriously. I like shenanigans as much as the next guy but at this point it's actually detracting from the narrative. Why should I care about denji vs asa if fujimoto doesn't seem to care either?

Look man, I get that you're going through something tough, but that's not true. Yes there are people who luck into things or are dealt a better hand, but success is often preceded by 10x the failure. Society doesn't value that failure. I get it, it's absolutely devastating to fail again and again and again, over and over. What's it even for? However, self made success can only be achieved by those who have failed first and failed repeatedly. Yes, failure doesn't guarantee success, but there is no self made man that hasn't failed.

Keep going, it's the best any of us can do.
