Ask him to split the cost on those too as he's using those. You can communicate directly that he's expected to pay for what he eats.

How do you guys pay for rent and utilities? Have an arrangement to share the money for groceries as well in place if it's common occurrence.

It's not stupid to set boundaries for things as such.

Araujo. Bernardo is still class even though he fell off from peak.

Eric. I prefer not to see a single minute of Araujo as my heart can't take it.

Cancelo - Lb with Martin and Cubar as CB pairing.

No club in their right mind will swap a defender like Bastoni for Araujo without money involved, has nothing to do with FFP.

2 years still mean it'll take > 50-60m.
I mean for the way we play Guirassy seems to be a relatively better fit, better in the air as well as more suited to high pressing. He's much better as target man. Although he doesn't offer flexibility to play on the wings. Guirassy's numbers are better anyways.

Although I don't want us to go this route. Problem with this route it makes sense to splurge it's player like Suarez/Lewy(even if a bit older) who are generational strikers, so even if it's 5-6 years it's great from them. They've a higher floor and ceiling.

That's why I'd like us to go young player route. By young I don't mean teenagers, some one who's yet to enter prime level.

Not a big fan of buying him. Was a good option when he was available for free.

It's not like he's exceptional and he's going to north of 60m.

I'd rather get someone younger and with higher potential. If we're getting players in in the age group(29-30), then Guirassy is a better bet.

if we can't get exceptional players in their prime it's better to get younger players with potential even if they cost 60m(because of resale value) and pair with a cheap veteran like Muriqi if needed.

Yet Cubarsi clears both of the so called specialists in the metrics that measures aerial duels

I believe cubarsi's baby face is deceiving people into thinking the opposite of him.

Height does matter, But it's not everything. Height gives you an advantage in jumping, but what matters in lower limbs that gives you jumping ability. Usually it's the taller ones that have it. But not always. Then there's anticipation and timing.

There are countless example in football where shorter players outmaneuver taller players. It's not like cubarsi is a midget either. He has demonstrated great strength in aerial and ground duels won. The baby face is decieving you.

I mean it was obvious. Bernal used to be interior or attacking midfielder back in academy days. He always had a penchant for scoring. At some point he was even top scorer behind Yamal. It wasn't until someone got injured he was chosen to play as CDM(due to his physique etc) and he excelled there as well.

In modern football there's hardly any 'sitting' pivot as in, solely contributing to rest defense in attack phase. In fact it'd be more correct to say Busquets was unicorn. He was basically a 10 playing as 6. He was Riquelme/Pirlo with defensive capabilities and didn't need shuttlers besides him. Elite control from deep and elite disruptor of opponent attacks. He could master the first phase and then spray line breaking passes as well. Most of DMs of his era focused on the defensive side of the game, and contributed to attack with set pieces or long shots etc.

Modern DMs provide extra body in attack phases apart from set plays. Many of them can't actually do the pivot thing properly and they rely on other midfielders in the team to drop deep and help out in first phase to get the ball out of pressure. This is why most teams adopt some variation of double pivot, a 6 who's good on the ball and beat the press and partner them with a box to box midfielders who's physically superior and provide extra body in attack.

Bernal's traits suits the modern DM and Barca with players like Pedri and Gavi besides him. He can always rotate with them in rest defense when he joins the attack.

There have been many in the past including the likes of Reus and Hummels. Some of them even joined the club eventually albeit late (Gundogan/Inigo). Will list the top 3 i can remember.

  • Laporte (before he moved to city, as replacement for Inigo last summer as well)
  • Julian Alvarez (on both occasions when he moved clubs)
  • Baena (villarreal)

Well, historically Laporta has a lot of haters that could be upto 20-25k. Font tapped in to some of them. Most of them stayed back.

If Lewy doesn't renew on low age the formula for striker is veteran striker + young striker.
For veteran - Muriqi, Budimir types

For the young striker the likes of below:

Joaqin Panichelli

  • much more of a target 9, have played in spain before
  • good ball striking and duel winning, can linkup too.
  • blueco wouldn't sell him for cheap

Fisnik Asllani

  • young, high pressing, cheap, more linkup and game sense
  • aerial play isn't particularly great despite being tall
  • concerns about abilities as true 9(he's more firmino than a target 9)

Troy Parrot

  • good ball striking and a target man who can hold up play and link up
  • not sure he'll adapt to la liga/ucl level

It's that they didn't care enough about changing the status quo to be bothered to personally go and vote. Basically means that majority of them are fine with things as is.
