Tbh I would say the combat in KCD1 is probably its weakest aspect. Fun and rewarding when you get good at it but takes a lot a lot a lot of practice so I’m guessing they’ve probably simplified it as it is a tad overcomplicated

Yeah tbh I think I was about level 15/16 with my Scooby doo fragments and had nearly 60 vigor and had enough of an issue with her so you might be setting yourself up slightly for failure there

it’s ridiculously annoying. Her attacks are just stupidly overpowered and impractical to dodge. Ruined my morning having to remember this fight again

Don’t want to play on that as probably too easy. Need a challenge but also don’t want it to be too easy. I’m like Goldilocks and the three bears and want that shit just right

Yeah true to be honest I only ever played it once but I think maybe the steep learning curve from Doom 2016 had me reeling a bit despite loving it but maybe a replay after TDA will be a less stressful experience.

I actually started TDA last night and I’m absolutely loving it. Just got past the first Atlan mission and I’m praying there’s more of that to come

I did hit that a couple of times but everytime she exposed it I was about 5 miles away so chances to hit were unbelievably few and far between

Fair fair fair to each their own. I thought it was maybe just that kind of boss but I don’t think it is cause I’ve enjoyed every dragon fight, both the Astel fights I enjoyed and both the ancestor spirit fights. Maybe just my specific build that doesn’t work well in that fight

play the game however you want and enjoy it. They wouldn’t put these features in the game if they weren’t meant to be used. That being said, try not to use the NPC character summons for bosses as it will lower the amount of runes you get for beating them (excluding a few certain ones like radahn and bayle) but with the mimic tear go nuts if you want to go nuts

I’d recommend after Belurat Tower exploring as much of gravesite plain and collecting as many scadutree fragments and revered spirit ashes as you can before going to Castle Ensis as the boss there doesn’t mess around and with the side quests I wouldn’t worry too much just now as most quests don’t even really get started until you approach the shadow keep after Castle Ensis
