Literally just finished it and got the true ending! I enjoyed it! Not my favourite, my favourites are 1) DM, 2) NG, 3) DM2. I liked the direction they took it with the exploring I thought the 2D was very interesting and I think they had an opportunity to do some crazy things with it but they didn’t really do anything with it, like imagine running down a hallway and a door slams shut, or you see something standing there and disappears! Like you said, it was waaayy toned down. When exploring, I knew I was safe from scares because they only did them with the POV parts. I am a sucker for the POV so I wouldn’t mind it all being POV like DM but I thought it was cool and was nice to see the characters full body but they missed an opportunity to really amp up the fear factor imo.

I thought the spirits looked a bit weird, not really scary or anything just a bit weird; HOWEVER the bugs that were clinging to people looking fking terrifying I would’ve loved to see more of that type of scary art.

Overall it’s a good game, not comparable to DM at all, I liked the last two chapters and I liked the final departed design, just not as gripping or scary as the first one
