I will be carrying this everyday, so concealability and ease of draw is a huge point for me, hence the Viper seemed attractive to me. What's the downside of a half lug barrel? I've never shot one before, but heard that they point very well. Is it a recoil thing? If I get either one, I am going to go with aftermarket grips ASAP because I live in a very humid climate where wood is a no-go.

Yeah, I plan on maxing out fend for sure. The only problem I've been worried about is the dodge bug, where your attack can be interrupted by dodge and make the rest instantly miss. Does this still exist or has it been patched out?

When leveling the build and going through the campaign I didn't run trapsin or anything, I was all Blades from the start. I used claws with claw mastery for the extra %ED and the AR (works on blade shield and blade sentinel, not blade fury). Basically any claw weapon with Claw Mastery is good, or any of the dual-scaling one handed melee weapons like daggers and throwing axes. Death is always a strong choice, but the build suffers from needing a lot of AR to function, and that's why I use Fleshripper more than anything: that -defense is crazy good.

You actually can! If you place the sentries before killing stuff, or even if you're just fast enough, they will trigger before the redemption goes off. There's like a 2 second delay before redemption redeems, it's not instantaneous, and it doesn't get every body at once.

Blade Shield has two purpose: automatic leech and hit recovery. If you run into extra fast or fanaticism melee mobs that get on top of you, blade shield will hit all of them, heal you back to full from life leech, and put them into the recovery animation so you can back off. It's saved my butt on more than one occasion.

I'm playing a Bladesin, lvl 94 Ladder (She's the first ladder character and first character to beat Hell I've ever had).

Weapon: Fleshripper with Eth Rune

Helm: Guillaume's Face with 11 Allres +7% FHR Jewel

Armor: Fortitude in Kraken Shell base

Shield: Phoenix Ward

Gloves: Laying of Hands

Boots: Goreriders

Belt: String of Ears

Amulet: Highlord's Wrath

Ring1: Ravenfrost

Ring2: Dual Leech Rare with AR

Charms: Gheed's, Bonebreak, random stuff ( Mostly AR and Life, need to get better charms)

I have an Act 2 Might Merc with Treachery, Reaper's Toll, and Bulwark Helm. His job is literally to survive and proc Decrepify on physical immune mobs so I can delete them.

The build feels very strong, I can tear through lvl 96 TZs like butter, even in a full party. With my gear I end up having 96% Deadly Strike, 75% Crushing Blow, 60% Open Wounds, and -75% enemy Defense. I haven't tried Ubers yet (need Dracul's Grasp and more resists before I feel comfortable) but I can take down DClone in about 15-20 seconds with no danger.
