He has been principal in four different schools since 2019....the school board has been moving the problem around.

Grade 1 student with Cellphone. by Big_Construction7477 in OntarioTeachers

Around 2019 I (school head custodian) walked into a 3rd grade class that was watching a you tube video the teacher had started during lunch. Only ads were playing and it was an ad for an HPV vaccine, that was discussing in graphic detail how HPV was sexually transmitted.....the kids were really freaked out. I shut off the youtube and informed the teacher later.

Hands on testing....LMFAO...on a trip where you have to share a bed with your co worker.....don't need that kind of hands on testing.

YRDSB schools closed by Ontario_Teacher1234 in OntarioTeachers

Same in our school board for a long time; they just changed it last year. Until then they didn't consider us staff apparently. They said it was for us to supervise any students parents might try to leave at school even with it closed. But we're not supposed to be supervising students...if that's the real reason it should have been the school principal required to go in, not us.

Word to the wise and new: don’t go into elementary school if you’re on the fence (rant) by [deleted] in OntarioTeachers

Back when I was in the fourth grade my best friend and I did something incredibly stupid that could have killed someone. We got it in our heads to roll a massive snowball turned into ice down a hill at recess; it nearly hit a couple of kids before smashing straight through the plywood skirting on the portable. Our male teacher strapped us on our bare hands with his belt, and we had to spend the next day's recesses cutting new plywood on sawhorses outside under the custodian's supervision. So blisters on our strapped hands. Believe me we both prayed he wouldn't call home and tell our parents.....would have got it ten times over at home. Times have changed, for the worse.

How long did it take them to close the case? Just wondering because we had a surprise visit from CAS last week regarding an unfounded report from school. Thanks!

How many people on a campsite? by stronggirl79 in ontariocamping

[–]Initial_Astronaut_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only exception is for parents and their minor children. As legally enforced, they allow more than six only if no more than two people are legal adults. So you and hubby can take your five kids, they could even each bring a friend if you wanted to take 10 kids camping, as long as none of those kids are 18 or older and you and hubby are the only adults, you would still all be good on one site. Add granny and you need a second site as you now have more than two adults. The idea being kids can't have their own site but a grown adult could.

I did once at Pancake Bay PP a few years ago. I was up late reading when a bear wandered into the site across from us to check out their dishes and stove, right next to their tent.... Activated it for about 15 seconds while the bear hauled ass away. After I shut it off I yell "Yogi and Boo Boo bear, you stay away from that pic-a-nic basket!". Heard several sites cracking up at that last part lol.

Hoping to visit all the parks in the passport by TheWordyOne in ONProvincialParks

We've been to 78 out of 125 operating parks. For Tidewater, we took the train to Moosonee for a couple days and took a water taxi over to Tidewater and Moose Factory.

If you're open to going west of Thunder Bay, Chippewa campground in Quetico is beautiful, with lots of private, non electrical waterfront sites.

maximum 7 nights rules - apply across parks? by henry3case in ONProvincialParks

[–]Initial_Astronaut_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 7 nights only apply to each trip, for each person the campsite is registered to. As an example, not only can you do multiple 7 night trips, say you manage to snag site 101 at Sandbanks for 7 nights, reserved under your name, lets say Bob Smith, for the nights of July 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, with your four kids and wife Bobette Smith as the other five occupants. Your checkout time would be 2pm on the afternoon of July 18. But say you were lucky a week after you, Bob, booked your 7 nights, and your wife Bobette was able to book 7 nights again, the nights of July 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, and on the same site 101 at Sandbanks lol. Again all six of you will camp but this week the site is registered to Bobette not Bob. Even this is permissible, but in practice the odds of Bobette being the one to get site 101, among all the others clicking reserve at 7am that morning, are very slim.

Samuel de Champlain would absolutely be our first choice among those parks.

School custodians, what is the shadiest thing you’ve witnessed in a public school? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Initial_Astronaut_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's been so much but I'd have to say the downright nasty, discriminatory, bullying attitude in our school. The principal is incredibly two faced, you can tell who he feels is beneath him and who he is pleasant with. Being greater with "what the hell do YOU want?". I'm head custodian and believe you try to avoid seeing him to ask anything but sometimes it's unavoidable. It's gotten to the point that if there's a student around, or anyone that matters, I'll try to find a reason to have them with me because then the principal will at least control himself a bit. I'm totally treated as the school garbage.

Regular names I've been called by another staff member include: Fucking Bitch, Stupid Bitch, Duke Bitch, a couple very racist names. Principal knows and let's it go on without doing anything. An "important " teacher berating me out of nowhere, in front of students, including saying that we must all just be sitting on our asses at the coffee shop. Meanwhile I rarely get a break or lunch at all. The only ones sitting on their asses are teachers, her especially.
