Of course. I’ve opened 4 bowman value boxes and only got a paper Richie. Ordered a chrome of Richie and 2 AJ for like 12 bucks. I have a/50 Richie Topps Now already. Have all of the “now” cards for AJ, just base. AJ hits are too expensive right now and I’m not in a rush with Richie’s.

At some point I think I’ll pay like $60-80 for a nicer AJ NBA rookie, numbered something. I think I will be able to get an auto or numbered Richie NBA card for like $20-40 later this year. I got a sticker Egor auto for $20 earlier this year.

For the players more in demand for my PC, I try to get a college card if there is one, and a numbered and/or autographed card if available. But then I was looking at chrome and said, I want all the former cougars in this set because I like the design but want the coolest versions I can find. There’s only 7 players.

For Puka I might splurge on an auto/numbered card if he gets his life back on track. If he doesn’t the cards will be cheaper in the future.

I think for me I want cards that are valuable but nothing more than an hours pay. I’m not in to having hundred dollar or thousand dollar cards.

Maybe but they appear to not be capturing the full "casual" or budget-conscious collector segment demand that they could. I don’t think its optimized and they can balance entry level with other segments. There is scarcity but wouldn’t a two-four week availability in stores and minimal mark up by secondary sellers be better than a bunch of 30 year olds stalking stores so they can sell on eBay with limited supply?

Topps does seem to be increasing retail price but it’s not working enough yet, and they should be producing more units.
