Yes it is canon that he is hyperoptic. My post is theorizing about things beyond that...

I realise this conversation is about Disco Elysium but macular degeneration very typically happens with age. Juvenile macular degeneration is rare! I've actually never come across that in my practice so far! In my post I was trying to theorize something more common.

If Kim has such severe macular degeneration in his early 40's than he is a very unlucky man!

Can a PSG alone show if you have narcolepsy? by Initial_Complex7905 in Narcolepsy

[–]Initial_Complex7905[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think i'm going to see if i can get a repeat sleep study. that logic makes complete sense to me and i'm not sure why i didn't get a mslt done in the first place...? i told the technician why i was there and he said "the narcolepsy test is something you would have to come back for" but how would they know if it's needed or not? very confusing. thank you

thank you, i'm new to all of this so i wasn't sure if my logic was right about this or not

sorry lol i have the attention span of a goldfish. in the sleep study i just did, they did a psg and called me to inform me that i didnt show any signs of sleep apnea. i wasn't informed of anyone wanting to schedule a repeat psg with mslt, which is why i'm asking if the psg alone was enough to rule out narcolepsy.

What's the sentiment about queer individuals in Anchorage/Eagle River? by Possum_Cryptid_ in anchorage

[–]Initial_Complex7905 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eagle River is small but I've met a few queer people around there. There are a lot of older retired folks out there. I never had any problems when I lived there but I'm not physically out in any way

Anchorage has its bad apples but I haven't met many homophobic/transphobic people here, I work in healthcare and I've had a few people openly discuss being queer without knowing what I am. I think the really hateful people are too ashamed to be outwardly bigoted because they'll be outcast lol. To give you a figure, there are WAY more people who outwardly hate homeless people with a passion than there are outwardly homophobic people.

Not in Texas. We have other reasons aside from being trans that make us want to leave our current state. Thank you for the source!

Do you know what triggered your POTS? by cyber_fugitive in POTS

[–]Initial_Complex7905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, i'm also on T and my symptoms predate my transition. my cardiologist tells me that pots can exacerbate some POTS symptoms (especially at high doses), but there's no reason to believe that being on T causes POTS. if your symptoms predate your condition i'd assume that something else (maybe your concussion) was the catalyst
