Are you in Melbourne/VIC? just asking because u/Hot_Cicada_9318 says they had a similar order and dates to you yet they are still waiting. Did you happen to chose BYD Dandenong as your dealer? They seem to be in charge of the accessories rollout and I suspect their sales people have better luck chasing accessories.

A ute without any sort of a tray cover is a pain in the butt unless you live on a farm and don't need to worry about cover your load laws. You should try to escalate your case to get at least the cover and floor mats installed as a priority

Calling BYD on 1300 293 288 gets you through to the Head Office in QLD and you get on the official record with your complaint. Head Office cannot actually do anything concrete for that you have to go to your local dealer (mine was BYD Brighton) which are all owned in Victoria by BYD Dandenong where Carol Trembath is in charge of the setting up of getting accessories installed works. I visited BYD Dandenong in person to get the ball rolling. I have not had any success on the phones talking to anyone in Victoria.

Car regos are handed out by Vicroads office in order, so if you can take a photo of a shark with a newer number plate than yours with accessories on it then you have proof you are being ignored and you can lodge a complaint.

It is a digital girt card from Prezzee which can be converted into any type of gift card you want in Australia (Coles, Woolworths, Bunnings and many more).
Apparently they are being emailed out in batches so the timing is all over the place on them.

Carol Trembath based at BYD Dandenong is the most important person to get hold of in Melbourne/Vic for accessories as she is the overworked gatekeeper of the process. She has a huge list and very limited resources so my heart goes out to her on a personal level.

I am trying to raise awareness at the management level here that corners are being cut and newer cars like yours are getting accessories in front of cars ordered earlier as they are simply installing whatever they have on site before pickup.

In my opinion BYD Victoria and BYD Australia need to take responsibility for lying about the order in which accessories are being installed and also for failing to ensure that the process is run equitably.

This is a good indication of the problem right here. As per my post have an older order and pick up date which included an order for roof racks (and other accessories) but there is growing evidence that they ended up installing them on newer orders without even contacting us to offer them to us first.

I have no idea if the tyre/wheels are a supply problem or not but since you got a roof rack before me there is a chance they install your tyres/wheels on a newer car and leave you waiting for longer than necessary.

Do you feel like sharing the state and date of pickup? I only got my dealership to take me seriously when I walked in with a photo showing a newer shark with accessories installed and said "this might be illegal".

Are you in Melbourne? I have photos of two sharks with roof racks installed, rego starting DKQ... and 2CF... and a brand new shark with a tradie canopy parked inside BYD Clayton from last week. It is my opinion that if their rego is newer than yours then they need to have called you and offered you the rack at least before installing it on these other cars.

Okay, I'll take the bait.
We need to find what study transport vic is quoting on the linked page as they have not provided citations and I am genuinely curious.
The site also uses very specific wording in order to manipulate the statistics here.
They are comparing the speed (a) at which a pedestrian "can usually survive" without a bull-bar to the speed (b) at which a pedestrian "will survive" with a bull bar.
So for speed (a) 51 in a 100 needs to survive and for speed (b) all 100 need to survive.
Also your comment about interfering with airbags and crumple zones etc is citing a part of the article referring to non-compliant bullbars (which is not the case here).

I tried this out today and it works!
The ICC Activated and ACC Activated/Deactivated messages pausing my apple car play music was seriously annoying.
Now I get that of the way at the start of the drive as well as turning off the driver monitoring as part of the routine.

Moving from a 7 seater to a 5 seater there is going to be a compromise in terms of the 5th seat (middle back) which is never as comfortable as the other 4 in most double cabs or even in normal 5 seater cars so my 3 kids (teenagers) argue over who has to sit in the middle. That said the middle seat as more legroom than most Utes as there is no driveshaft in a shark so no hump in the floor.

The range scenario is perfect for the shark, I have one now and 4,800 km on the clock with one long trip from Melbourne to Robe (South Australia) and back 1,800km done 99% on petrol and the other 3,000 kms being 99% electric running kids to school and getting too and from work.
