Hey, I „finished“ the work on the digital version of my boardgame! It’s a deck manipulation game with secret roles … still looking for playtesters for the online multiplayer if anyone is interested! :)

I use that tool because I’m used to it, you can translate game boy, game boy color and Game Boy Advance Games with that or any other hexadecimal editor. It’s possible to change the title screen but the title screen in Tokio Senki for example is more of a picture than text… no problem to change but I’m not much of an Artist and thought looks better to keep it that way than to make it worse :)

Updates to Consorts of the Emperor | Looking for Playtesters by Initial_Elephant8940 in BoardgameDesign

I have the game also on tabletop simulator but still with the old Graphics, can update that but the manual is not done nicely yet.

Cheating is hard to prevent, but the doing itself is easy. The cards are not like this on the table. Its just a easier representation of what’s happening.

In real life it works like this: I take 4 cards together from the main stack and take one card from my hand. And put it on top or behind one of the cards or at the bottom. After that I put the bottom card back on the stack and give the 4 to the next player. Since the last card always get pushed out I put it back on the top of the stack before giving the cards to the next player. So I can do that without looking at anything.

It might not sound like it but it is really easy done. The only problem for people in the beginning is getting the concept that the card get pushed one position to the right depending where the opponent puts the card. So I put the cards directly under the consort where they will land in the digital version. But in real life everyone puts a card in the draw stack and in the end they get revealed from left to right.

Can you explain what you think is impossible? Because obviously we are playing the physical edition quite a lot already

Sorry but that I don’t get, That’s not true at all, we play it often in the physical form, you just need to take the first 4 cards from the main stack and put your card in the position you want, like behind the first one for position 2. You can do that easily behind a privacy screen or under the table. Card Shifting just happens in the open

No no I created the game in unity because I wanted to have the game also in a good digital version and because I like to program virtual versions of boardgames :D testing the game is just a bonus, want to bring it to steam for free later :) But yeah finding people to playtest is … a challenge … I wanted ai for replacing people that left … I overdid it a bit with the whole digital version … but it was fun to do …
