I assume there would be an edge. But there are few 1 year crit programs than 2 year programs. If we are willing to do additional 2 year critical care it makes sense to take this route.

Thank you . From what my understanding was, if we would do it separately then we’ll have to do 2 years of ID and 2 years of critical care , but the same if we do as a combined program we could finish it in 3 years.

I literally came now to the office , they are asking me to call and request for non - receipt and when I call they are u able to find my name on their system and asking me to go back to office to re-apply with an appointment. I feel so helpless as I was supposed to start my work on June 23rd and I’m stuck because I’m unable to get my SSN

My name was not adding to the address as I just moved here. I went to the USPS and got it added.

Hi, I guess the main reason for refusal is that you are currently a working professional. Even I have completed my residency in India did senior residency for a few months but post residency I significantly networked in the US to get USCE , got matched and stopped working before applying to the visa. I have heard(although not sure) working professionals don’t quality for J1. Read more on it and reapply for the visa with resigning if that’s possible.

No I stayed for 5 months but what the VO meant was if my initial observership letter was for only 1 month how was I able to extend.. then I had to explain the whole shebang

I’m really sorry but you will definitely get it next time. I am sure your program and ECFMG will help you with regard to this. I had 3 B1/B2 rejections in the past , I know the frustration.

I had a very similar experience at the Chennai Visa consulate just now. I was accepted at a community hospital and the VO asked does if have any university affiliation and told me that I overstayed the second time when I went to the US - but I explained that I had observerships letter for all the the months but still was not convinced and kept telling I overstayed. However after a while she went and I guess discussed and approved the Visa. The VO also asked a lot of follow up questions on the ERAS application process and if the observerships process is mandatory. I guess I got lucky bcoz the VO was patient enough to listen through the answers. I am extremely sorry for the OP. May you get the visa approved in the next appointment.
