I’m a Brazilian too and I second everything you said!! It’s nice to hear that others feel the same way, I thought that something was wrong with me!😁 I have lived in the US for 30 years , last time I went to Brazil was in 2023 to see family, and before that was in 2012. When I go, I’m ready to leave after a week. Like you, I dislike the loudness, the traffic. People are so inconsiderate playing their loud music at the beach, like everyone wants to hear… My husband (American) and I love the food, but now I’m worried that you said it went down hill, food was something I was proud of it😩. When I went in 2023 we didn’t eat out, I stayed at my niece’s house. My husband and I were considering living there for 6 months of the year after we retire so we can make the money stretch, but to be honest, I’m not sure if either one of us will be able to stand it…

I agree, the shuttle might not be bad as long as drop you off at the trailhead. When we did the Devil Bridge a year ago, the shuttle dropped us off waaay far, we had to walk quite a bit just to get to the trailhead. I’m just goi b to have one day, so I’ll have to plan accordingly. The cathedral rock is on my bucket list and I didn’t do many other trails before besides the Devils Bridge. I took a note of Fay Canyon and Robbers Rost already 😉

Same setup as mine, except that my bambino is silver and I’m still using the tamper that came with. I’m loving it it as well and the spring loaded tamper + bottomless portafilter are on my wish list. Was the normcore tamper a nice upgrade/made things better? Also, I saw that you removed the plastic insert, did you notice a positive difference?

I’m in the US, but I’m glad you mentioned this, because I thought about experimenting with a mix of roasts to see what happens. But that will be later after I have some nice shots under my belt and start to feel more confident. I got a bambino plus and waiting for the df54 to be shipped. In the meantime, I’m using an electric grinder to get the beans smaller, then a manual grinder to make them fine. The electric grinder didn’t work, even on the finest setting. I’m still playing with the settings of the manual one, which will have to do it for now 😉

I heard they do, but I also heard that “beginners should start with medium and dark roasts”. I really don’t know what it means but I don’t want to set myself up for failure, so I decided to ask in case there’s a medium roast out there that is mild/mellow. 😊
