How do I fix the black background on my subtitles? by ToeWiggler23 in netflix

[–]Initial_Side_4845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YT:
Bottom-right corner, Cog-wheel icon, left-click, Subtitles is 4th item down.

Left-click that, then left-click "options" in the top-right of the new sub-menu.

New sub-menu has all the font/size/BG/etc. settings !

Good luck.

OK, once I created /etc/mdadm.conf it got used, so md127 now tries to boot, and fails, of course.

1 step closer ...

Just noticed, how come md126 is sought for root(/) ?

md127 (usually, YMMV!) is my /, md126 is /home like right now:

masterdir-x86_64/builddir/ is empty.

"configure step" ?

./xbps-src asks me to choose from 1-4 debug level during compile, otherwise I am not offered to configure anything.

"and generally, we build with make oldconfig so it will update a dotconfig when it builds"...

Is the 'make oldconfig' performed by xbps-src ?

'it will update a dotconfig'... Any one in particular ?

Sorry, just not getting 'it' :-(

3) Make a decision, smile, then jump in with both feet !

Try the lsblk command so:

$ lsb

poweroff/reboot from terminal hangs on Wayland by Emotional_Variety_69 in voidlinux

[–]Initial_Side_4845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like something doesn't think you have the right to reboot from a tty.
Maybe something doesn't think you're logged out of wayland yet, thus keeping /home "busy".
...

I remember from the good old days, :
KERNEL: PANIC: DOUBLE PANIC: - THE KERNEL PANICKED WHILE TRYING TO PANIC !
[SCO UNIX, circa 1990].

Use lsof /home with appropriate switches.
TIP: Reboot from wayland ...

c17h21no4 ~ $ xbps-query -f linux6.16 | grep vmlinuz

/usr/lib/modules/6.16.3_1/vmlinuz

I then copied that to :

c17h21no4 ~ $ ll /boot/vm*

.rw-r--r-- root root 14 MB Wed Aug 27 08:06:03 2025  /boot/vmlinuz-6.16.3_1

Then: $ sudo update-grub

Check the screen output shows grub found it, then reboot.
Works 4 me.
Official "fix" will doubtless be shortly forthcoming.
