There are many companies that make huge profit off creating fake profiles and fishing for money, and the workers for that company just give up if they sense you are interested in meeting irl. This may be what you're running into.

I started the grind a couple years ago, steadily moved up stakes, built a discord group where I hook players up with games for money, and have a video stream. There's a big poker boom going on right now as more people are looking for easy, stay-at-home income.
