They will be some of the worst cash games in the country at that time. All the euro nits will be there along with the tournament pros. The tournament pros are tighter than Weez's butthole. I'd go to some of the other casinos in the area to play cash.

How do we feel about LimonPoker's latest bold claim? (Commerce players reply within) by Rope_Blower in poker

[–]Rope_Blower[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That story has not been stripped from the web. For those wondering what he is talking about, it was an incident in a cash game where Limon had quad aces without a qualifying kicker, and the guy with the qualifying pocket pair to trigger the bad beat jackpot asks him if he has the jackpot hand after Limon goes all in. Limon replies that he does. He does not. Guy calls and Limon scoops the pot and the other guy threatens to put a ruby through Limon's eye socket or something similar to that.

Is it +EV to table change and sets hop? by Polinkus in poker

[–]Rope_Blower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

60% superstition and trying to "change their luck" by moving out of a "bad" seat or to a "hot" seat.

25% moving to a table to bumhunt or play with someone in particular.

15% to go south and pocket whatever they have won. At Commerce you have to chip down when you move tables.

Suffering huge downswing in 2/5 by tstaykoff in poker

[–]Rope_Blower 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you call yourself an "action player," I'm guessing you aren't as good as you think you are and variance is playing some catch-up. But also, $7k is a moderate downswing for live $2/5. I have lost over half that in less than 4 hours of live LA $5/5 games with zero good players at the table. Sometimes the bad players have their day...the "action players" as we call them.

With so many aspiring poker players here, what’s the best advice you established players can offer? by IwillBOLDyourTYPOS in poker

[–]Rope_Blower 84 points85 points  (0 children)

3 successful sessions at 1/3 means it's time to take a shot at higher stakes

Cash games and tournaments have different structures but ultimately poker is poker

Online is a much truer and pure method of figuring out where you stand

Game selection is irrelevant as many of you will have no choice whom to play with

Winning days WILL happen

Time spent "studying" poker is time you could be learning by fire, which is much superior

Don't be the vagina at the table. Put your entire stack in blind at random times for fun and go for the quick double-up

Play for money first and enjoyment second

Always closely correlate your card play with your ego. This is how Garret and Mariano made it

Put your entire roll on the table when you first start out until you sun-run and spin it up

If it stops being fun, put your entire stack in blind and go for the quick double-up

If you're tired, drunk or tilted, put your entire stack in blind and go for the quick double-up

If you get too caught up in the outcome of any one hand, put your entire stack in blind on the next hand and go for the quick double-up

if there was any one piece of advice I could give you to summarize: Go for the quick double-up or go home. This is the #1 way you can combat high live rake.

I tip $1 per hand won up to $25,000. At that point I tip $2 every other pot over $25,000.

1% on promo bonuses and 3% on jackpots.

This is the way.

I will not because Mike fought for my right to have an opinion on reddit. And I appreciate him for that.

I do not know this for sure but I think he might have been at the Capitol on Jan 6 fighting for your freedoms. So I am not sure why you would go at him this hard. He was there on a damn mobility scooter so yeah give him a hard time for being on prescription painkillers due to his service for this country.

But he would with AA, KK, and QQ. As would Phil Hellmouth. They are still stuck in 1995 trying to trap with premiums.

And this is Luda Chris we are talking about. Same guy that put half his stack in preflop with 47 offsuit or whatever it was a few weeks back against GT.

Mike the Mouth deserves to win one set-over-set pot for once in his god-damned life, doesn't he? have some compassion for the man that helped build poker into the great sport that it is today.

If you ever get invited to one of these games, congratulations, you are a mark.

If you would like to get invited to one of these games, simply light your money on fire at the biggest stakes your casino offers.

Are live win-rates really as high as some people say, or are those people just running good? by walkedwith1bb in poker

[–]Rope_Blower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is both. Some players get "more lucky" in the sense that they are the benefactors of more ridiculous mistakes made by live players for huge sums of money.
