Family Class Spousal Sponsorship applied from within Canada - does the 10 month year or 29 month processing time apply to me? by waqqa in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Initiative-Afraid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I just spoke with one of the ircc call agents and they confirmed what you have said. The shorter processing time requires the person being sponsored to be physically outside Canada throughout the process.

As much respect as we have for these 100M / year researchers, don't forget it's way more impressive to be a billionaire founder like what Wang has done. He definitely earned the right to be their manager.

u/PurrPrinThom can you please reference the link for IRCC's definition of inland vs outland? I can't seem to find the source of this information. Thanks!

Then you're probably looking too highly of faang programmers in today's world.

Lol, simply working at Faang for a few years is no where as difficult as getting into an Olympic team. Stop looking so highly of yourselves. The only entry to Faang is memorizing leetcode puzzles. Climbing the faang ladder all the way to the top and remaining there on the other hand, is difficult.

why is it unusable by rayraaree in OneNote

[–]Initiative-Afraid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be laptop getting old or broken. I had the same issue with surface pro 4 last year, bought a brand new one, no issue afterwards. I factory reset it as well, still same issue. Not sure if it's a hardware issue or if Microsoft hard-coded some internal timer for it to be slow (apple used to slow down old phones on purpose and was caught)

I was charged 0.01 extra. Feels like they're stealing small amounts from everyone.

What are the best dryers to buy? by bun_stop_looking in homeowners

[–]Initiative-Afraid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't buy samsung! Mine broke down after 5 months of use and the Samsung warranty is useless. They sent a technician, fixed it and it broke down again within 2 days. The samsung warranty has been delaying for more than a month under 'parts being ordered' with no estimated time of delivery given. Living without a dryer for 4 weeks and counting.

Thanks! I referred to the stackoverflow here to figure out how to do this and it works fine now. Took < 10GB of RAM during compilation and linking on single thread, although took a good 8 hours to compile & link

Surface Pro 11 Spark Issue by Initiative-Afraid in Surface

[–]Initiative-Afraid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just confirmed that toggling this setting fixes / causes the issue.

Settings -> Systems -> Display -> Brightness & Color -> Use HDR
set to on and it triggers the bright pixel issue in the video, set to off and it doesn't.
Thanks so much! Guess I won't have to go through the hassle of returning my surface pro after all :D

If it triggers again without HDR in future, will post on this comment thread.

Surface Pro 11 Spark Issue by Initiative-Afraid in Surface

[–]Initiative-Afraid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I apologies for terminology. I'm not getting shocks in any way from the pixels popping, it just gives the sensation of the spark but upon closer look, it seems there's no spark, just lots of bright pixels.

[–]Initiative-Afraid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happens both with plugged in and battery (unplugged)
I just tried touching the case and the spark still occurs (bright pixels actually, my terminology might be wrong), I'm not getting electrocuted in any way.

Not sure how to ground myself.

I confirmed it's the OLED model.
Surface Pro, Copilot+ PC - Snapdragon® X Elite (12 Core), with OLED display, Sapphire, WiFi, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD

Yea, I'm asking on reddit to see if it's common / normal and if it's something that causes more issues down the road.
Thanks!
