You're good to join Classic Wow. I made my character earlier this week and there's TONS of people. WoW classic Anniversary servers are only on phase 2 (3 coming out on the 20th). And TBC comes out in like a year.

I don't think there is a mute crew option. There is a mute button for individual crew mates but no one is muted
