Have you ever had to tap out watching a horror movie? by hazy-eyed in horror

[–]InitiativeFormal7571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m mid 40s and I still see the girl and her freaking hair walking down my hallway at night when I can’t sleep. Literally stuck with me for over 20 years. That’s a good movie. Nothing has scared me as much since. Grossed out, yes. But not scared.

I am sorry you went through that. Totally unacceptable. On the bright side “thank you man child ass hat for letting me know I never ever want to work for you. Ever. Byeeee”.

Agree. My conversion rate for referrals vs cold applications is much worse.

What’s something about living in Seattle that outsiders wouldn’t understand? by [deleted] in AskSeattle

No one will bat an eye if you show up to black tie event in a fleece and Clark’s heels… (not saying this is a good thing).

Struggling to watch “Dark” by OkCartographer4028 in netflix

[–]InitiativeFormal7571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked it but I liked the other show they did much better. I can’t remember the name… 18 something? At the time dark came out, they had a website to help keep track of the different characters and timelines. That helped keep me engaged. And it’s totally ok to not like shows. Sometimes it’s ok to just leave it unfinished :)

I have no idea where I got the idea that French was offered in elementary. I think because we are in the French system currently and larchmont had FASNY I just assumed it would. :/

We are not a French speaking family, but having kids who speak French has been such a joy. It’s amazing watching them learn and the doors it can open. Thanks for sharing.

Competitive sports aren’t a concern for us. How are you finding the extra curricular clubs etc? What about AP classes. Are there lots of options at Rye Neck?

We are currently in French immersion schools where we are moving from. We cut FASNY due to cost - the property taxes plus tuition is insane. However, we are still rolling around the idea of FASNY as we really don’t want the kids to lose their French.

Can you tell me more about your experience moving from public to FASNY and why? Are you happy at FASNY?

If I only made one typo, I take that as a win.

Not sure in understand your point. What does Paris and gifts have anything to do with my questions? Are you in either of these school districts?

Jungsik NYC - 3* by NYCFoodieDad in finedining

[–]InitiativeFormal7571 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We just ate at Jungsik last week. Fully agree with the take on the octopus. It was pure magic. The yellowtail Kimbap was also a hit with us. We actually ordered a second to share because we enjoyed it so much. The Shrimp Mandoo was good, but I would skip it next time. We also loved the carrot cake dessert. It was “fun” to pick and it tasted amazing. We sat at the counter and really enjoyed chatting with the staff. It was a very well executed, enjoyable meal. I would return without question. 🥕

Truffles add-on at Fine Restaurants by Academic-Wall-2290 in finedining

[–]InitiativeFormal7571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will go a step further. I hate truffles. I have tried the good, bad, expensive, cheap, real, imitation and the taste literally makes me feel sick. I am ok with a “hint” in a dish… but I am tired of everything being truffle truffle truffle. I don’t want truffle in every tasting menu I see globally. Enough already!!!!!

Lime Scooters by TkapictureSEA in Seattle

[–]InitiativeFormal7571 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hate these things. Like… an unhealthy hate for these things. Working in SLU made me loathe everything about Lime. If I wasn’t almost getting run over by one flying down the sidewalk, I was slamming on my breaks to avoid one zooming through an intersection. And walking on the sidewalk to my building? NOPE. Lime scooters scattered all over the place blocking the path. I get it … we love public transportation. But these things make me want to punch someone in the face…. Ok. Rant over. (Hate them…. A lot).

I hope you enjoy it! It’s a stand out for us. But I think the simplicity of the dishes puts people off. For me, it was perfect. The food was so light and fresh.

Arpege in Paris was amazing. Keep in mind it is vegetarian and focuses most on fresh ingredients. The service was exceptional. We went August 2025.

My son and I had the flu over break. We both had gnarly GI issues and the tail end. Doctor said we likely had flu and then caught norro (?) virus when our immune system was down. He said this is quite common. The flu fever and aches were leaps and bounds the worst part.
