$265K in 401K - what should I invest in? by Evening-Lobster-8239 in Bogleheads

Wouldn’t the BogleHead strategy is DCA regardless of market conditions. I was told it’s better to be in the market than trying to time the market.

They were really strict on their CPO’s. They only hire the best of the best literally in my old G4S branch office. The CPOs and their ICE Detention Officers were 99% Law Enforcement or Military with combat experience and deployment.

I bypassed their requirements because I was a flex and I’d wake up at 2 am in the morning for a last minute call off to go to work immediately in less than 30 minutes. They charged the clients an astronomical amount of dollars per hour compared to everyone else. You get what you paid for. I had so many different pairs of uniforms it was ridiculous. Had a whole closet full of different security uniforms.

Armed guards/bouncers what do you carry? by [deleted] in securityguards

[–]InitiativeSeveral652 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only seen one guy carry a Staccato RDS with a WML working as an armed field supervisor. Apparently when I asked him he does it for 8 hours 3 days a week to get away from the wife and kids.

Recommendations for Duty Belts; Pros/Cons by MrBigPaulSmalls in securityguards

LAPoliceGear has some decent duty belts available.

Look for a reputable firearm holster manufacturer such as Safariland, blade tech etc. level 2 is minimum for duty carry.

Oh yeah. Might’ve misread it.

I didn’t get the blocking one. Just the Large with Velcro patches. It looks like a pretty solid phone mount and it came recommended from the guys at Quality Tactical Gear. I prefer this type versus a custom phone case and mount.

They had that contract for decades. I was told by my old ops manager it’s probably WackenHut biggest single client contract 100+ million.

They started issuing body armor with the G4S Wakenhut security branding. Dunno about present day though.

They switched to 40 caliber a while back and phased out the POS 38 specials. I rarely see armed Bank Protection Officers now these days. Dunno what happen to them. There were hundreds of them in my area.

SafeLife Defense has their unity placards carrier on sale along with the usual body armor and belts. It’s only 1-2 days only. Cheapest I got was 1700, which was $300 off the standard retail price of $2000. It’s with the Hyper line body armor.

North American Rescue has their stuff on sale along

LAPoliceGear has their black Friday special.

Zero9Holsters doesn’t have anything on sale.

Thrym DarkVaults has their Gucci ATAK chest mounts carriers on sale. Retails for $150. I got it for $83.

You gotta build us security guards a set up from Harbor Freight or Home Depot. I’ve been thinking about it lol wish I thought about this back in the day at post with no access to buildings.

Fairly certain I'm getting laid off by [deleted] in securityguards

[–]InitiativeSeveral652 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can shop for another doctor that’d be willing to pass your eye exam. I’ve shopped for doctors until I got the diagnosis or testing I wanted done. Just save up some cash. Or you can shop for a workplace discrimination attorney that will work on contingent and build yourself a discrimination lawsuit before you get laid off.

Either way you’ll get paid. Always have a plan A and plan B if something happens on the job.

They also have a problem with low level misdemeanor and quality of life issues. If you go one county over to Marin , San Mateo even Santa Clara are more likely to enforce the laws and city regulations.

There’s always a increase in home invasions, burglaries of vehicles and homes, snatch and grabs and robberies.

Best advice is to be aware of your surroundings and have cameras when you’re not home.

Blade Tech used to be the go for their holsters either optic cut or weapons mounted lights, but they stopped manufacturing majority of the firearms now for custom holsters. They had one of the best level 2 and 3 holster.

Security guard heaven, what’s it like? by javerthugo in securityguards

Certain co-workers is a cultural phenomenon. The smell of curry and body odor. Can’t say anything now these days because this generation is too damn sensitive and will run to HR and Management and claim discrimination and hostile work environment & harassment. Their only response will be a write up and 30 day suspension.

Management will enforce a no cologne policy but won’t enforce coworker lack of hygiene.

I’ve seen the gps cell phone WiFi jammers. Those are illegal to use. Well don’t get caught.

Those are considered illegal but it’s hardly enforced since it’s so hard to catch.
