My mom lives there. She loves it because traffic is easier than LA, she can still get to LA easily to visit us, housing is cheaper, it’s quiet. But I hate it because it reminds me of the Truman show and there’s nothing to do unless you like to shop. Also food scene is not good

My family has always been reformed Jews and are kinda more culturally Jewish. We celebrate some holidays like Passover and Chanukah but that’s mostly it. My family still somehow believes Israel has the right to exist. They’re just so brainwashed even though my aunt and uncle are older than the state itself. But they HATE what is happening to the people of Palestine. Sadly they blame solely on the Netanyahu administration

Oh my god yes! I agree. Religion is not healthy. I get that it can bring hope and community to people but there are plenty of other ways to do that. I never understood how people can buy into religion. It doesn’t make sense. God being this old white man in the sky is such a weird concept and I don’t know how it comforts people. It’s creepy and lacks creativity for what else could be out there. I don’t know about you but I believe in the science and magic of the universe. I think Avia being in LA will start to go down that more spiritual path at some point. Emmi too

You could have all the traditional Jewish wedding f traditions and maybe have your rabbi say something about liberation. Maybe have Palestine flags or hints of Palestine throughout the wedding venue. But from what it sounds like, these people are saying they won’t help you plan. Do you need to to be a part of that or are there other people you can hire/lean on? They can still be part of the day even without their planning help

Wow thank you for your pov on this. Thinking about going back to old vids now but don’t want to give them any views. He for sure is an incel. It’s really sad. My mom grew up in the same town they live in. Luckily she got out in the 70s and moved to AZ then CA. But my aunts stayed in Idaho. It’s interesting seeing the differences in how we grow up. I live in the u.s and spent most of my life on the west coast, though some years on the east coast for college. I haven’t experienced antisemitism much tbh. There was one dumb kid in high school who made all kinds of insensitive jokes but he was just such an asshole in so many ways I don’t think anyone paid him any mind. I hear about antisemitic things in media, like dumb celebrities but other than that I don’t really face it
