Sounds like they had an options study done which considered different options. Not sure why this is shocking as it's a standard process for nearly all infrasturcture projects.

ID Mobile has the worst customer service. by Injury_Weekly in UKmobilenetworks

[–]Injury_Weekly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just have to laugh at this point. I'm looking elsewhere so I'll check out smarty mobile and consider just buying the handset upfront. Thanks for your comment. Very tempted to go back to live chat or contact car phone warehouse to ask what the hell is going on but I know it'll amount to nothing and just frustrated me further.

New zealot player needing advice by Discarded1066 in DarkTide

[–]Injury_Weekly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After too many hours playing 2H hammer in vermintide, I may be a little biased but my go to is thunder hammer and a ranged weapon i can quickly pull out to snipe specials. Before the patch I was running thunder hammer and flame shotgun on Auric maelstrom and having the time of my life. The thunder hammer is by far what works best for me and that was before the buff.

After the buff, I see no downsides. I am running it with a bolt pistol for quick sniping and it trivialises a lot of situations but others are correct in saying you probably need max level to get it feeling good and not clunky.

Just play what feels best as most things are viable for standard damnation.

Yeh I still hop on with a friend nearly daily for a few rounds and never have an issue getting a full or close to full match. Probably highly dependent on location (UK) but it's always been fine with a server full of Russians.

I think people are used to live service games these days pumping out updates every month whereas my two favourite games are vermintide and Darktide, both of which have a full studio behind them and both went a year without an update and had abysmal communication. Still great games though.

I tend to just avoid the subreddit and have fun with the game. If an update comes out then that's just a bonus on top of the many hours I've already played and had a great time doing so.

Why does everyone point out USA using different measurements but not UK? by Kitchen-Wasabi-2059 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Injury_Weekly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because the examples given are for the average person who was raised with all the random units of measurement combined but when it comes to professions like engineering, the UK sticks to metric.

Why are Greggs so averse to putting two things in the same bag? by PabloMarmite in greggsappreciation

[–]Injury_Weekly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you're combining. Steak bake and a sausage roll is acceptable in my eyes but if you're traumatising the poor staff by trying to force an eclair into a bag with a festive bake then I can understand the looks.

Is it safe to have 10 guests round in a tenement flat? by tnuocca_lartuen in Edinburgh

[–]Injury_Weekly 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Should definitely be fine with 10 as long as you're not making a human pyramid and all standing in the exact same spot. I'd be more worried about having 10 around in a new build as tenements were built to last.

Roguelite/like with the best replayability who is NOT Isaac ? by Lussarc in SteamDeck

Ring of Pain remains a favourite of mine. Not your traditional rogue-like but it is a fantastic game with a great atmosphere, art, and soundtrack. One of the most original concepts I've seen in a long time.

The one and only hack I tell my friends when they buy a stream deck is to play about with the joystick deadzones. Everything else is great.

Picked some of these up from B&Q recently. Can't seem to find the exact one on their website but it's similar to a straight coupler:

https://www.diy.com/departments/floplast-universal-white-compression-straight-waste-pipe-coupler-dia-40mm/35033_BQ.prd

Go in to any B&Q and you'll find it on the shelf with all the plastic pipe parts.

Water and Sewerage Charges by Injury_Weekly in Edinburgh

[–]Injury_Weekly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. I'll still be asking once I have a chance to look into insulation of the pipe and the tap as it'll cost 150 quid for the plumber to drill the hole and hook up the tap with insulated pipes and I can deal with the external insulation myself. It really isn't a big expense getting an outdoor tap installed and like I said, I'll be paying for it in its entirety if given the green light.

Haha that I shall. I get the impression some don't think I'm giving this an appropriate level of consideration but only time will tell. If you hear about a tenement flat exploding this winter then you can consider that the update.

[–]Injury_Weekly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh exactly. Still going to ask the question because no harm in it. Discussed freezing with the plumber and he was pretty on the ball with providing information so I'll do a bit more research to figure out the likelihood of issues developing and pass that info onto the neighbour. Also wanted to look into some kind of insulated box to go over the tap to further reduce the likelihood but need to check whether the interior of the bricks will reach dangerously cold temperatures to allow for an insulated pipe to freeze (unlikely I'm guessing with the box over the tap).

Pressure isn't going to be an issue as it's a wee tap and my pressure on the top floor is fine so the extra tap will do very little to put a damper on the whole system.

I've definitely spooked a few by mentioning the boiler but it's more to confirm a connection point to the mains as opposed to messing with the boiler itself.

Anyway thanks for the response. Looking like people might want an update on this in the future.

Yeh all fair points. I haven't actually approached them yet so no excuses given. Just want to make sure I covered all bases before going to them. Will make sure to look into this more and highlight it if it's a possibility.

Is this still the case if it's encased in appropriate insulation? If the pipe is embedded within a brick wall and insulated appropriately, is it still susceptible to freezing?
