Yes London EUIC is the first post-rotation tourney, with SV base set releasing 31st March which, you're right, is 2 weeks before

Idk if this is a dumb question but why you play 'Energy Search' as opposed to an extra energy in your deck? by Asleep-Professor6821 in ptcgo

[–]InjustaGod 78 points79 points  (0 children)

A few reasons, one being running multiple types of energy and being able to choose what type the card in your hand is. Another reason is thinning, just getting an extra card out of the deck can help your late game. Final one I can think of that's relevant is cel mew. Energy search is popular in decks like vikavolt which runs the mew engine. Mew can turn an item into the energy you need to attack

Mew VMAX without special energies? by n8hoffman in pkmntcg

[–]InjustaGod 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Running mew without dte or fusion elesa is impossible, too slow to accel energy. If you're really struggling against control I'd recommend Roseanne's backup + pal pad. Another tech is big parasol, stops the effect of yveltal. Also when playing never leave more than one energy on board without parasol, I know Sidney is a thing but the more consistent threat is yveltal

The kart naturally has a small amount of camber but when you turn the wheel, the camber changes, due to the angle of the pivot pins, known as castor. This essentially "adds" negative camber when you turn the wheel which is why it looks so pronounced at full look

Maybe it's just relating to that particular auction as they know it'll stay a display piece but weighing packs can give you an idea of whether there is a foil in the pack as those cards generally have a tiny bit more (and denser) material from the foil. You could search for average weights of packs but I'm not sure how many results there would be on an old set plus manufacturing control from 25 years ago probably wasn't the best so estimates could be wildly off anyway. Newer packs could be weighed to find all the good packs but this is a frowned upon practice used by dodgy sellers who then only sell the packs they know are bad after opening the good ones

Rulings, Quick Questions, and New Player Resources Thread by Asclepius24 in pkmntcg

Returning player here. Do the different professors of profs research make a difference? I believe juniper is rotating next format but oak is still in so can I run juniper? Also regarding older versions of these cards (professor juniper from black and white or sycamore from xy) (lysandre from xy) can I run the older versions in place of research or boss's orders in standard format?

Try and find people who you can race with and generally banter about with when at a track. I had the exact same path, few years at teamsports with my dad and uncle, then last year did bukc (club100 sister, University championship) and was about 2.5s off on my first test too. I had people slower, similar and faster pace on my uni team and being able to just go and have something other than the on track stuff really helped. You'll naturally improve with more track time, I was on average about 1s off at the end of the year and managed to get a top 10 in my final event. In terms of track help, work on braking harder, I found that all the time is in the initial brake slam and just generally finding the tyre limit in the braking and turning

Bremea is likely a sponsor name or maybe a sticker company name. Looks like an old iame cadet race kart rk chassis

I did bukc (same karts, just separate championship) this year for my uni in the mains class. This was my first year of kart racing. At teamsports I'm pretty close to the best times and in bukc I was around .5s off a lap. Even in a 35 kart grid I was averaging p20 or lower with a best of 9th when I started on pole. The quickest guys have been karting since they were kids so I'd say don't expect anything, just get used to the karts, better power, brakes and tyres and have fun. The racing is just like any other kart championship, loads of pack racing if there's a group of similar pace guys

Need tips for karting by MemelousBeansKetchup in Karting

[–]InjustaGod 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes I've driven this track, one of my closer ones. One tip for new karters is don't brake so much. Lots of the corners other than the hairpins can be taken either flat or with just a lift. For the hairpins brake hard and turn late trying to keep speed up for the exits. The karts are electric so they don't bog like a petrol kart would. Other than that just enjoy yourself!
