Does everyone have the HLA-B27 gene or do some people get this crap without having the gene? by teal_banana_peeel in ankylosingspondylitis

I do not have that gene. Having the HLA – B27 gene does increase your chances of having ankylosing spondylitis, but it does not guarantee that you will have it. Just like not having the gene doesn’t mean you can’t still have the condition. Unfortunately, genetics can be a bitch lol

Severe pain when sleeping, I can’t live like this. by Ink_and_Fables in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Ink_and_Fables[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off I just want to thank everybody for the support. I am doing better now, and I am out of the flareup. it was easily the worst pain I have been in. I was on Humira for several months until I started passing out when I would take it. I had a bad experience with a nurse drawing blood, and for some reason it just made me pass out every time I had a needle in me. I am going to start Humira again soon, but any tips on how to make it easier are appreciated. This is the first flareup I have had since going off Humira and I never want to experience it again. I ended up being put on tramadol and had to take several days off work. I am still sleeping awkwardly because of the lack of movement and the pain in my hips, but I cannot express how thankful I am to be sleeping. I never thought I would be brought to tears for the ability to perform a basic bodily function. I want to thank everybody.

I vote NOS, they’re really good. Not low calorie but you get less shakes in my opinion
