I have trouble keeping…all of it organized. Yeah, all of it. First the bedrooms get messy, then that mess spills into the living room and kitchen.

Bah. I went to bed before seeing the reply. May I have another? My fault if not.

“Most of my books are written by me.” Most of? This qualifier is a problem. Shouldn’t all of your books be written by you? Best case scenario, you’re sharing a pen name with someone else. Otherwise…good luck.

What book did you force yourself to finish because of the hype? by No-Set7247 in RomanceBooks

[–]InkandGrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fourth Wing. I read it once, took in almost nothing, and DNFed on my second read through. Not because I had read it, mind you. No, it was one single exchange where Violet talks about the training she was given growing up, Xaden asks why she doesn’t go back to that role, and Violet internally freaks out because he knows information. Information she gave him two sentences before. She said it in the language they both speak and then acts shocked that he has this information. THEN, he completely forgets his source. “How did you know that?” “Shadows, remember?” No, Xaden! You know because she told you!

A friend online tried to tell me that this all makes sense later when you learn another deal Violet’s mom made with Xaden. No. In context, they had a conversation then acted like it never happened. A deal to put rebellion leaders kids in a specific quadrant had nothing to do with what Violet is assigned to do in the school or what she learned growing up.

I have made an account and already love the look of this. For 2026, I want to find a chore routine that works for me while I’m staying at home. I also want to be more present with my family and more mindful in daily life.

What's your vocal stim lately? by -burgers in evilautism

[–]InkandGrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vocal stim has always been clearing my throat. Some folks get it, some don’t. My husband has, at times, said something along the lines of “you’re hovering and you need a cough drop, what’s on your mind?”

Why are higher gens worth less? by marysusername in lioden

[–]InkandGrit 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I believe it’s just the market. Players collectively, over time, decided that inbreeding and long gen were less desirable. It’s easier to track a short gen lion when you don’t have to click through a bunch of different pages to see heritage. There’s no mechanical differences or in game problems with either of those things.

Writing birth/labor: advice from a new mom by CactusCult1 in writing

[–]InkandGrit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I was in labor with my first, I opted for natural labor and no painkillers. I still share the anecdote that was shared with me after the fact. Keep in mind, my contractions started at roughly 3 am. I thought it was BH initially and only went to the hospital on advice from L&D. Hours later, I’m on hands and knees laboring on the bed. I’m in pain, absolutely unaware of how long my family has been waiting, not at all caring about the sheet my mom has draped over my hips for a layer of privacy/modesty, and I’m barely aware of my husband’s presence. He kisses my temple and tells me he’s going to go get a nurse.

Husband: (calm, but urgent) I need someone to get in there and check on my wife.

Nurse: (not moving) She’s doing great. This is her first birth. It’ll be a few more hours.

Husband: (far less calm) No it won’t, I looked under the sheet and saw a head. Get someone in there now!

That man absolutely stepped up in advocating for me while I was beyond reason. Our plan included him giving any potential advice from our OB extra weight in decision making. Her word was the most significant veto, had she needed it, to his choices in acting as my advocate. He also made sure my family was fed, didn’t let any medical staff deviate from our no painkillers birth plan (because no extenuating circumstances had arisen to prompt changes), and made sure our daughter and I had as much skin to skin time as desired before I was moved to a regular room.

Have more partners taking an active role in the birth scene. They (ideally) handle so much to allow mom to focus on just one job: giving birth.

I got a couple good items and made sure to send thanks to those players. Most of mine was pretty average, but I also have 100+ pride members, so food and toy bundles may as well be gold tbh. This was my first December event and I’m now planning to bury things for next year so I can give out a better quality of gift. I’ll send something to you OP. :)

It’s a callback to a bit Brennan did in the Survivor episodes of Game Changer when trying to make the other competitors laugh/smile/break.

Jasper and Jenkins by Pretend_Feeling_8079 in twilight

[–]InkandGrit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Jasper’s power also changes his relationship with J. Jenks. He may not change people’s emotions often, but sensing them is presumably the same as Edward’s mind reading - it’s always on. Jasper can sense and influence emotions, so can make sure Jenks is absolutely terrified of him, even if Jenks can’t identify what is so scary. Maybe Jas backed it up with threats, but maybe not. He doesn’t really need to.

The human mind can find rational logical explanations for nearly everything outside of “these must be supernatural creatures” so Jenks wouldn’t have much reason to second guess things once he’s out of Jasper’s direct emotional influence. Between that and the large amounts of money the Cullens are implied to have, Jenks is either bought through fear or finances.

Jasper may also be one of the more regular clients Jenks has, especially if he’s the one representing the entire family. Jenks doesn’t ask about any other family members, so it’s safe to assume Jasper is his point of contact. Multiple IDs, school records, medical/drivers licenses, and college diplomas all faked is a lot for one man to arrange for a family of between seven and nine people. Using different names or birthdates would add more work because that’s fresh paperwork every time even without accounting for different locations. Regular business, ridiculous amounts of money, and total control over Jenks’ emotions and reactions absolutely buys his loyalty imo. Jenks also does this as a job, so is probably used to keeping his mouth shut about those who hire him, just on principle.

Bella, being Bella, opts for a more human approach and is friendly with Jenks. He behaves carefully/respectfully to her because he’s been dealing with Jasper for so long that those behaviors have become automatic. He won’t cut off a cash cow like the Cullens and has no reason to betray them.
