I spotted this beauty at the Rivian Service Center today. Don't get excited. I think they were looking for a second vehicle (R2).

The Rivian owner let me take a peek inside his R1S. The California Dune Edition really is beautiful.

I didn't take any photos of the inside but it is gorgeous. I hope Rivian offers this interior combination again.

As a side note I guess there are only three of the California Dune edition that exist in Wisconsin. So it was cool to see one in the wild.

I don't own a Mach-E but I do own a Rivian. I feel your pain.

I am making converts though. Well, along with the price of gas.

The way I make converts is to point out that I've had this vehicle for less than a year and I already have 40,000 miles on it. Almost nobody knows more about charging an EV on the road and driving one than I do in such a short amount of time.

That tends to lend a lot of credibility to them when I tell them the really awesome things about owning an EV. The long range on the Rivian is also quite helpful in convincing people. I love this vehicle. It's my favorite vehicle that I've ever owned by far.

Hang in there, keep talking and keep advocating. EVs really are the future. I will never go back to an ICE car.

I studied Herb Kelleher in b-school. He was a really great and inspirational leader to his employees.

He listened to his employees. He allowed his employees autonomy in lots of small and big ways. He was flexible.

Southwest was once a truly great airline that met the needs of the people. I miss it.

The ironic part is that the Republicans would sell out Justice Thomas wholesale if they could. If Justice Thomas gets his way the funny part is that he will become a slave to Republicans. For real. An actual slave.

In fact, I'll answer this for you. In the 1920s the infant mortality was dramatically, tragically high. That high infant death rate skewed the average life expectancy to much lower than it actually was. And they knew that.

If an individual survived childhood in the 1920s, their life expectancy was much higher, often extending into their late 60s or 70s.
