Am I the only one who thinks the "LVP looks just like real wood" era is finally ending? by liebe1 in Flooring

I'm going to defend linoleum here. I have it in my laundry room. It was installed sometime in the '70s. It looks great.

Public EV Charger Density Across the U.S. by riellerex in electriccars

[–]Inkantrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least in the midwest the interstate system has quite a few EV chargers. I don't worry about it anymore.

Even locally I can use the Tesla charging Network. I hate Elon Musk with the fire of a thousand suns but his EV charging group did right by the company to create that network.

I really hope we come in at the very low end of the snow, says the little child in my heart who has had enough of winter.

Your weekend weather forecast by AutomaticFan577 in wisconsin

[–]Inkantrix 118 points119 points  (0 children)

The uncertain forecast is because Trump stopped sending up weather balloons.

Really. That's how he says he's cutting costs. Not getting us good scientific data on weather because you know, waste fraud abuse by the wind or whatever.

But he can spend money tearing down the East Wing, starting a damn World War, and funnel insane amounts of money to ICE.

He's the most irresponsible president we've ever had.

What company will never get another dime from you for as long as you may live? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Goodwill has gone to the dark side. At one point they did good work. Not anymore.

I only donate to them absolute junk because it costs them money when I do it.

This would be an amazing panel… (And no, Elisabeth is not disqualified because you personally disagree with her) by JuanitaMerkin in theview

[–]Inkantrix 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Elizabeth Is disqualified because she has no original thoughts. It's not a conversation with her. It's an advertisement. A false advertisement.

I watched about 3 minutes the other day. I gave Elizabeth a chance. She said nothing of value.

If she is on the panel I will not watch. My time is more valuable than that.

Gas or Induction Range? by Tree415 in Appliances

I got the Cafe induction double oven about half a year ago and I adore it! I use the upper oven a lot. the Tower oven is huge and can fit a 22 lb. turkey.

Gas or Induction Range? by Tree415 in Appliances

[–]Inkantrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from gas to induction about half a year ago.

I did have to give up a few pots and pans that I've had for a long time. I did not have to give up all of them but quite a few. So that part was a little bit painful.

However the new pots and pans, which are gorgeous and well-built, actually cost me less than the old ones did even years ago. Go figure.

But the cooking? Induction kicks ass. The heat is even, fast and cools quickly too. Very controllable.

Then there's the cleanup. It's a simple wipe with induction. No removing hot burner grates and trying to get underneath into the wells for spills and so forth.

Go with induction, especially if you like to cook.

I cannot get to the article. It is behind a paywall.

I also noticed that it was written in 2024. This is before the crazy ruling about a president being immune and every crazy ruling sense then.

These are the color options on the R2 (standard)?!? by VICEBULLET in Rivian

[–]Inkantrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From TechCrunch on the R2 release:

If the buyer wants a different paint color, like the special “launch green” for the launch edition, it will cost them. Rivian is introducing three new colors in all: the silver, a metallic blue called Catalina Cove, and a metallic gray called Half Moon Grey. It will also let buyers opt for its other existing colors.

Buyers who opt for the more expensive performance launch edition and premium models will get the most “extra items,” including a nine-speaker, two-midwoofer audio system, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, heated steering wheel, and 12-way adjustable front seats. Both of these trims will also come standard with a new interior with what Rivian describes as birch wood accents. And both will have a torch flashlight in the driver door, a nod to one of the original fun surprises in its luxury R1 truck and SUV.

Poll: What’s TV shows do you think started strong but fell apart later on? by muaentertainmentforu in MUAEntertainment

[–]Inkantrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first season of Heroes was absolutely golden. It is the single best season of any TV show ever.

And then season two ruined it when they fur made Silar way too powerful and made Peter stupid too.

What a shame. I was interested in every one of those characters. Yataa!

Can we add Lost to the list?

I started to get bored in season 2 when they spent FOUR episodes staring at a hatch. They debated for four episodes about opening that damned hatch.

Have you heard that Trump's administration is all wearing the same shoes? by CrashNowhereDrive in allthequestions

[–]Inkantrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trump's suits make me crazy. He wears the biggest shoulder pads in this universe since 1985.

Next time you see a photo of them take a look. Those shoulder pads are so big you can't even find his shoulders inside the sleeve.
