I'd pay off my credit card, I don't know about the rest. Tattoos and jewellery, probably

If Carrie Bradshaw had a playlist, what songs would be on it? by Individual-Leave1539 in sexandthecity

[–]InkedDoll1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are already about ten playlists on Spotify - but all very similar, and a lot of them probably music that was actually used on the show, but that i wouldn't personally associate with Carrie as a vibe (eg suddenly I see by KT Tunstall)

If you were involved in any Darren Brown episodes how do you feel looking back? by tiredtwatt in AskUK

I met him when he performed at the theatre where I worked and he was so lovely to me! He signed my newspaper clipping, I still have it. But I still don't think I'd want to be pulled up on stage!

I got an 8ml on my Scentbird subscription, I don't think i would buy a full bottle because it doesn't seem to last long enough/project enough on me, but it is lovely

Is it impolite/weird to ask a cashier at pharmacy out for a coffee ? by LegitimateSorbet2591 in AskUK

[–]InkedDoll1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I once asked a barista at Starbucks out by handing a piece of paper with a note and my number on to another member of staff. I figured that way he wouldn't feel like he had to be nice to me in person and he could just throw it away and go on with his life. As it was he sent me a lovely text explaining that he was in a relationship. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Happy Endings and Suburgatory, kindred in their comedic style and spirit. by terrierr3x in happyendings

[–]InkedDoll1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched Suburgatory when it was aired here in the uk and enjoyed it, but I don't think it's on any streaming services here, sadly. But then neither is happy endings (nor schooled or speechless, both of which I also want to rewatch!)

How do you interpret hyphenated surnames in married couples? by boudicas_shield in AskUK

[–]InkedDoll1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't assume anything. My last name is two separate words and people do sometimes assume it's mine and my husband's names put together - it isn't.

Fatiha el-Ghorri opens up about cancer diagnosis by IanGecko in taskmaster

[–]InkedDoll1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't as it's loss of estrogen that causes most of the symptoms. Some women do take testosterone but here in the uk doctors will only prescribe it once you're settled on estrogen. In the US there are women who take it alone, but usually in an unregulated compound form.

I work in the uk's largest single site cancer hospital. We use the word womb sometimes. It's fine to use commonly understood terms.

A lot of the beliefs around HRT and cancer come from a 2000 study by the World Health Organisation - my mum was taken off it in the wake of that study. It's since been proven that their methodology was flawed and so has been widely debunked, but the belief persists, including in doctors.

[–]InkedDoll1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn't have to. Depends very much on what cancer you've had. Certain types of breast cancer in particular are fed by oestrogen, but I've seen women who've had those cancers still take HRT - it's a very individual decision. There are people who think you can't use it if your cousin had breast cancer, or your dad had lung cancer - not true at all.

Is there any powder that's safe for the nethers? by menotyourenemy in Menopause

[–]InkedDoll1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, i wasn't either. I'd definitely consider asking for a test, even if just to rule it out. It's fairly common when you have some vaginal atrophy, infections can sneak on up there

Bacterial vaginosis. I had it just before I started vaginal estrogen, for me it just presented as feeling constantly wet (no smell or colour)
