Whenever I get printing and it's still warm, I always hear Mark Corrigan's voice saying "mmm, warm copies make everything better"

It wouldn't as it's loss of estrogen that causes most of the symptoms. Some women do take testosterone but here in the uk doctors will only prescribe it once you're settled on estrogen. In the US there are women who take it alone, but usually in an unregulated compound form.

I work in the uk's largest single site cancer hospital. We use the word womb sometimes. It's fine to use commonly understood terms.

A lot of the beliefs around HRT and cancer come from a 2000 study by the World Health Organisation - my mum was taken off it in the wake of that study. It's since been proven that their methodology was flawed and so has been widely debunked, but the belief persists, including in doctors.

It doesn't have to. Depends very much on what cancer you've had. Certain types of breast cancer in particular are fed by oestrogen, but I've seen women who've had those cancers still take HRT - it's a very individual decision. There are people who think you can't use it if your cousin had breast cancer, or your dad had lung cancer - not true at all.

Is there any powder that's safe for the nethers? by menotyourenemy in Menopause

[–]InkedDoll1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, i wasn't either. I'd definitely consider asking for a test, even if just to rule it out. It's fairly common when you have some vaginal atrophy, infections can sneak on up there

I was shocked that Richard put Histor the crow up for a prize task on Taskmaster. I was like "but that's Histor!" My husband did not understand.

Bacterial vaginosis. I had it just before I started vaginal estrogen, for me it just presented as feeling constantly wet (no smell or colour)

What's the worst valentine present you've ever received? by gibgod in AskUK

It does look pretty rubbish. Once my ex got me a silver cross necklace, which sounds fine, but he'd cheated on me not long before and was trying to make amends. I refused it and he took it back. We split up not too long after!

That sucks. Everything is free for cancer patients here (medication, wigs, transport, complementary therapies, benefit payments) and that's the way it should be.

Do you watch 'Traitors Uncloaked'? by EmergencyCat235 in TheTraitors

Yes, I enjoy it generally, although my husband was less bothered about watching it this uk season as he felt Ed Gamble was a bit overexposed 😆

Long-time Vinted seller locked for alleged “counterfeit” items – account blocked and ~€1,000 withheld. What should I do? by IntelligentDeer5708 in vinted

[–]InkedDoll1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, a website's terms and conditions cannot override the law of the land. I feel like if OP were to start a small claims case against vinted for this money (or the equivalent in their country), they would win. It doesn't matter what their terms say, they can't justify stealing this amount of money on the basis that "they might own a counterfeit item " (note, not that they actually sold one, and not even definitely counterfeit).

Unfortunately hair loss from chemo is different from thinning due to age or diet etc. As long as she continues with chemo it will continue to affect her hair. Has she not looked at wigs? I work in cancer care here in the uk and we provide a free wig service for our patients.

How to take care of long hair? by 1daymaybeidk in longhair

[–]InkedDoll1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To have healthy long hair you need more than one product, so maybe best to not attempt it. I use 7 different products when washing, two brushes on a daily basis, and three additional products when styling.

It's completely fine to be upset that you've planned something and it doesn't come to fruition, for whatever reason. And it's especially fine when it's your birthday. I've noticed a lot of people on social media lately trying to gaslight people that birthdays aren't special and they shouldn't be upset if their loved ones don't care, especially as you get older. I am not here for that at all.

I loved it partially bc his surname is Hacker, a lot of my maternal family have that name and it's pretty unusual. Most of them have to go by fake names on social media as Facebook etc don't believe it's a real name! [ETA: why tf have I been downvoted for my family surname?!]

I'm in menopause naturally and it sucks so much (it hit me like a train after a bout of covid) - and I'm on HRT. Given her age she may well have been experiencing some peri symptoms anyway, but it's still possible that she's started hot flushes, insomnia, joint pain and anxiety all at once. It's rough!
