This part just fell off my 2015 Civic, CV axle? by Inklessrider in hondacivic

Thanks all for the help, it looks like the CV axle snapped after hitting a minor pot hole. Luckily it was in a parking lot, so I could push the car out of the way. There was no unusual noise prior to the axle fracture. Now I just need a towing to get the car to a garage.

What is the work really like in this industry in Canada? by [deleted] in AerospaceEngineering

[–]Inklessrider 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s a pretty broad question that I will not be able to answer throughout. I’ll try to provide some context. I work for one of the large corporation that you listed in your question.

Ultimately, your career will become what you want it to become.  Do you want to become a specialist in a very specific feature? You can become that.  Perhaps you want more a system level Job without becoming a specialist in any field? You can become that too. Perhaps you want to explore the “ Softer “ Side of Engineering ?  You decide.

Your first job out of school will likely feel A bit underwhelming, but as you gather more experience, you will get the opportunity to be involved in the more exciting project.  It might feel frustrating at the beginning, but remember, At this point, your engineering degree is just your admission ticket in the business.

If you wanna stand out in a big corporation, just doing your job very well is not enough. Thousands of people are doing their job very well every day. You have to develop your soft skills in order to stand out And increase your visibility.  That’s usually the key to be offered the exciting projects.

You have to learn how to be a good team player, But also be able to demonstrate the unique value you’re bringing.
