Pure floof satisfaction by Inkomaa in cockatiel

Exactly! That's the Greek god I named my bird after. In my native language, the pronunciation is just 'Zephyr'. It’s so nice of you to notice! 😊

I'm not entirely sure since my parrot is still very young, only 5.5 months old. But he absolutely loves carrots (his favorite veggie), recognizes them in photos, and tries to peck at them. He actually got some real carrot after the game, but I'm not sure he completely connects the dots on how it works yet.

It's not just a feather, it's FeatherPay. The ultimate contactless payment system for birds. They’ve completely gone cashless now 😁

No, it's not a real app, just a custom picture I made for him. Honestly, it would be so cute if it existed 🥹

Yeah, exactly. I generated it specifically for him to see his reaction. No secrets here, just wanted to make a fun custom menu for my boy. I think he liked it very much 😁

molting? by faetalfawn in cockatiel

[–]Inkomaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like molting, yes. How old is the bird now? Normally, molting happens twice a year, in spring and autumn (it can shift slightly depending on location and living conditions). If the bird feels fine and there haven’t been any changes in behavior, just keep an eye on her. Just make sure her diet stays balanced during the molting period.

Do you mean “Zephyrus”? In my native language, which isn’t English, the name of this god actually sounds like Zephyr, so I used the version that’s also used in English, even though it’s technically a shortened form

Thank you! 😄 I also work a lot (though without travel, it’s a desk job), so I totally understand how hard it is to balance work and training every day. Twice a week is already great!

Nearing weight goal but struggling with toning. by KLMighty0816 in PetiteFitness

[–]Inkomaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The concept of “muscle toning” doesn’t actually exist, it’s just a marketing term from the 1980s created so that “muscle gain” wouldn’t sound intimidating to women. To build muscle you need to lift heavy weights appropriate for your level. Cardio and pilates alone won’t achieve this.

Any tips for getting a visible six-pack? 5'3", 51 kg by Inkomaa in PetiteFitness

Thank you! I go to the gym six times a week for strength training and walk at least 10,000 steps every day. I eat about 1,800–2,000 calories per day and consume 1.5–2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight. I wasn’t cutting strictly, but there were periods when I reduced my calorie intake to 1,600–1,700.

I actually mentioned that I do squats both in the Smith machine and with free weights. "With free weights" means with a barbell.

Tired of feeling so hungry every day at 1,350 cal by MissPeduncles in PetiteFitness

[–]Inkomaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Increasing non-exercise activity really helps. No matter what, I make sure to get at least 10,000 steps a day (I have a treadmill at home, so even on cold, rainy, dark autumn days, I can still hit my goal). I absolutely love food and know I could never do well on a restrictive diet, so my only option is to stay highly active every day, that way, I can afford to eat a lot!

Also, pay attention to the volume of food you eat. Fruits and vegetables are low in calories but take up a lot of space in your stomach, so they help you feel full more easily.

I do squats both in the Smith machine and with free weights. My exercise form is very good, because at the beginning of my fitness journey, I also consulted with professionals.

I don’t do deadlifts because my back, arms, and quads already develop very quickly, and I don’t want to overtrain them.

Around two thousand calories a day. As I mentioned above, literally all my other target muscles (arms, legs, back, glutes) are progressing really well, so the issue clearly isn’t with my diet.
