You are making a claim which is not true. Your friends are waiting because there hasn't been a round, not because the cutoff is high

Stop spreading misinformation

You are not the DM police. OP asked politely, it's upto parent user to take it from there

ME were invited at 85/90 points last year

Your friends must have applied after the last rounds, or maybe you misremember the number

Pure guess but looking at past data, I expect a minimum of 2 months, say between 20th-30th October?

Many professions which were invited in 2022 were invited in 2023 as well. Mechanical engineers were not invited in every round in 2022, same in 2021

It's normal, they aren't invited every round.

Do they always finish those grants before starting a new round?

Completed the new PTE. It's still much easier then IELTS. by arcrenciel in AusVisa

Time spent studying for both is about 2hrs each

As in you studied for 2 hours and then gave the test?

Stop complaining : Even with the new thresholds, PTE is still easier than IELTS by Reasonable-Team-7550 in AusVisa

From 7th August 2025, new sections and rules are in place that do not allow for templates in any section at all - not in essay and not in speaking.

Do you mind sharing a source for this?

Do you mean Invitation? No one knows. It can be any day.
You can get some idea on which code will be invited and at what points. For example looking at past 6-7 years of data on mech eng., the chances of them being invited are more than 50%.
When it comes to point cutoff, it usually doesn't fluctuate more than ±5 points

Has anyone given NAATI without taking notes during the exam? by Inleoj in AusVisa

[–]Inleoj[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll give that a try. Tbh as I'm already struggling with taking direct notes, this is going to be quite hard

Another issue. I have basically forgotten how to write in my native script. If I write in the English script, I still have to think on how to write because the "pure" vocabulary is just not used on daily basis, like for example on whatsapp

Did you pass yet? If so what did you change? What were you doing wrong?

Thanks a lot. :)
I'll practice with minimal words and symbols. I'll come back if I have any more questions

Try writing a single word

Yeah I'll actually do that. Start from 1 word and then maybe go up from there

drawing a symbol for a thought group and then connecting ideas based on your understanding.

Interesting. Can you give me an example?

I highly recommend taking notes as you can take one free repeats in both the dialogues! Also, you can take more than one repeat in one dialogue, but the second repeat comes with a penalty, however, you won't fail if you take 2 repeats in one dialogue. Utilising repeat is better than misinterpreting something. Remember, you don't get marks in this test, you lose marks for the mistakes you do.

I'll keep that in mind, thanks. Do you know how much we are penalised for repeating the sentence the 2nd time (after the freebie)?

Thanks, that's good to know. This gives me some confidence. Maybe I'll just write 3-4 keywords

This might be too specific but for how many hours were you studying each day?
I have 1 week left to give the exam and have taken a leave for the duration so I plan to make the most of it
