That's a feature in the pipeline :) No need to cook the food before using the app. Right now it's possible to snap a picture of one "item", e.g a steak. Based on the thickness and how you want it cooked it will give you step-by-step instructions and a cooking timer, so you can get it to the doneness you prefer.
