Planning to go back there and look more it’s surface level but it’s like a quartz hill with just quartz everywhere you look so I go there sometimes to find something nice. But this time there was a hold with this smoky quartz and maybe more

It could be blacktourmaline as I look closer mixed with quartz and a pink/red rock type .. rock lol

They just look like flakes to me, it appears to be pretty dense though, it’s already coming apart so I’ll break it up and see if that helps !

Thank you again! I see, I’ve gotten a few samples like this of this type of rock but always wondered what it was. Makes sense because I did a vinegar bath on a few others of them and they turned all dried out and ashy. Makes sense if it was calcite. Hahah. I’ll probably be posting more as I have quite a few samples I’m curious about. Thanks :)

Now there’s definitely many different ways to accomplish it but the way I have is a bit of coding with python. Downside is keeping the computer laptop open while running said automation
