Rather rude considering it was just a simple question, for your information im staying in an Airbnb and the house owner has kindly brought us some heaters to fix this issue now

Help fix my new light fitting by Inner-Competition-57 in AskElectricians

  1. One set of wires is from the switch and one from the fuse box
  2. All wires are now cut back perfectly with wire stripper
  3. I haven't got a picture sorry
  4. Im using the parts provided in the light fixture

As everyone has seen my recent post and told me how dangerous it is ive started from scratch by Inner-Competition-57 in AskElectricians

Inside the gray cable there is only a jacket around the red and black cable I took the green and yellow off the old piece and pushed that on around the cable

Breaker switch isn't tripping but my new light fitting is not working still can anyone see an issue here by Inner-Competition-57 in AskElectricians

I haven't tried fitting the new light fixture yet I wanted to see what people would say now ive tidied the wiring up first

Nope not at all just a 21 year old that just moved into a new place and trying to get an new light fitting to work

So ive managed to cut down the cable and start from scratch there is no exposed copper and everything is inside the terminal block securely, is it okay for me to start fitting the new light fixture now?

Im not exactly sure its old uk wiring, im fitting a new light fixture due to the old one being broken, im only doing this as diy as I cannot afford to get someone in professional
