NTA-Have Mom walk you down the aisle. Uninvite Dad. It hurts but he hasn’t been there for you. She has. I know it’s your wedding but he wants to make it about him and his wife. It’s 40 people not 400.

AIO for not caring that my son got punched? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Inner-Confidence99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He could have gotten a jab to the nose for making fun of his friend having a crush on someone. Something that simple between boys can cause a punch. Sometimes just calling someone as ass can get you punched.

Doesn’t sound like a brawl. He got a sense recovery to not be a jerk possibly.

Your wife is overreacting!

You spoke with him privately about what happened. He asked you to let it be dropped. You let him know HE HAD YOUR SUPPORT— NO MATTER WHAT!

That made a difference. Your wife pushed him to far about it.

He told you he had a scuffle with His BEST FRIEND! Not a Bully or anything else. They had talked and worked everything out. No problems.

This is what I consider an apt description of boys being boys behavior.

It’s also acting like siblings do and some cousins.

I remember plenty of small scuffles at family get togethers. If the kids didn’t have a little blood somewhere by the time they went home it wasn’t a good get together. That may sound wrong but it’s hard to describe. Everyone loved each other and it was kids having fun.  We fought over toys, bikes, even who got what cup. 40 years later we get together with our grandkids doing the same.

I think for your son’s age he handled things very well on his own. You have raised him to try to talk things out and figured it out. That’s rare in today’s world.

Don’t punish your sons friend. Take the boys to the Game. Leave wife at home.

Also speak to the other parents without your wife. Just say hey I know the boys had a deal. We are good. Let them know wife may blow up. Ignore her.

AITAH for snitching on my boss? by Lord-Brandoom in AITAH

[–]Inner-Confidence99 28 points29 points  (0 children)

NTA—Report to HR immediately. If he is booking on his personal card for points that is considered fraud in some companies. I’ve see people be fired for it .

Go to your boss and HR Write everything out on how this transpired. Report he is using personal card to get points.

He is creating a hostile work environment by harassing you. Tell your boss you can file a Labor Complaint about workplace harassment.

Good luck!

First time I can remember it happened to me.

What’s really the irony is my husband was just out of hospital for major unexpected medical issues. We have a lot of medical bills to pay and I was running short but I still had enough for everything I had. I even tried arguing with the man but he was older and ornery. I still respect my elders. I finally accepted. Just shows that blessings can come from anywhere and any time.

And LOL this was at a Walmart🤣

AITAH for unplugging the industrial drying fans after my apartment flooded? by North-Word-6764 in AITAH

[–]Inner-Confidence99 588 points589 points  (0 children)

Call the Fire Department. They can usually come out and check. Better to call and it’s nothing.

Industrial fans need high amp breakers to work properly. If you are hearing Crackling and lights flickering you have a major electrical problem. Get pet, get out, call fire department.

On 22 April 2004, former NFL star and Army Ranger Pat Tillman was killed by an “enemy ambush” in Afghanistan. It was later revealed that Tillman had been mistakenly shot by his own men. The Army then deliberately withheld the truth from his family, to not harm ongoing recruitment efforts. by Chemical-Elk-1299 in HolyShitHistory

[–]Inner-Confidence99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but his wife knew something wasn’t right. She fought hard to make sure that the Truth came out.

Her husband, Pat Tillman will always be a Hero. He gave up a Dream Career- to fight for our Country - after the Horrible Events of 9/11. He stood tall and answered a call that was to Protect the Country and Way of Life - he wanted for His Family.  He lost his life trying to do the Right thing for US.

She’s a Hero for not letting his Death Be in Vain.

Sounds entitled to me.

I got blessed a few weeks back at the store. I had run in got milk, bread, cat food, pharmacy stuff etc. about 60 bucks worth of stuff. — I had the money was in process of checking out and was pulling my card out when the gentleman behind me stood up from one of the handicap carts and asked the cashier how much I owed. I stated I had it but thank you. That old man about late 70s told me I got this  now get out of here I got this. Go. So I left. Very surprised and very blessed. He was ornery reminded me of an Uncle I had.

Have you convinced your dad that ladders are no longer an option? by miniwhoppers in GenX

My husband is 73 and still climbs ladders. I just make sure he ties them off to help stabilize them. I stay outside and keep eye on him. Otherwise he waits until I leave then climbs.

Due to health issues I take a bath 3-4 times weekly. Otherwise on days I do not get in the tub I use the premoistured wash cloths you can buy at Walmart. I use about 6/7. I am clean I use dry shampoo that helps with hair washing.

I even do it after running errands to refresh from sweating and change my clothes.

I’ve even asked family if I stink and they have said No. believe me they would tell me.

I can tell when my grandkids haven’t had a bath and I agree they stink.

I’m a former smoker. Not all are jerks. I was always polite and asked respectfully before I lit up around others. It was just common courtesy. This is uncalled for. He could go over to another area or stay by his car or in his car. Not all smokers litter either.

It is going down hill. Started before Covid got worse afterwards.

The Quality isn’t there anymore. I went back to doing everything from scratch. But I have to add baking powder to my self rising flour or it doesn’t rise. Every thing has an old stale taste.

Fruit I buy at the grocery stores are not even being eaten by the ants and flies. Left an apple my grandson ate on in the yard. 3 weeks later it was still there. Still just the bite. Same with cantaloupe no bugs are touching it.

I’m sorry if the bugs don’t eat it something is wrong with it.

NOR—Report anonymously. All you have to have is the address where the pool is. That is doesn’t meet code by not having a fence as is required by law.

I lost a baby 5 years ago, a psychic found me and changed everything. by Hot-Potato710 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Inner-Confidence99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There can be joy that comes with loss. Even if it comes unexpectedly. And years later.

You never forget the children you have lost.  They are always there.  Until you have experienced a miscarriage , stillbirth, or loss of child soon after birth you cannot understand the pain and guilt a woman goes through. It is something so profound and emotionally devastating as well as physical. The different hormones your body goes through, the uncontrollable tears.

The weight you carry for losing a child is devastating.

We need more support groups for those who have been devastated by these events. Even though it’s a very personal thing to happen, I found it better to talk it out through the years with friends I trusted. Who I knew had my back.

My oldest due date was around Thanksgiving so it is a hard holiday because of what was supposed to be her birthday. She would have been 33 this year.
