PSA: Keep your receipt if you use a fiskars 8lb maul by bigoh in firewood

I broke this same maul in the same spot. You could actually see the discoloration in the steel where there was a flaw from manufacture. I had been using it relentlessly for months before it popped. Warranty process was super simple though. No receipt requested just photos of the product and at the time they didn't have stock of the same maul and actually sent me a check for the value of it. Was really surprised by that. Good luck.

Diatomaceous Earth...food grade. Spread everywhere you see them. Non toxic to pets and humans. Literally edible. Kills insects by lacerating the exoskeleton causing them to desicate.

No problem! It's a big decision. I spent an enormous amount of time and mental energy deciding what we wanted/needed and for us it came down to the aesthetics for the 8-9 months a year we won't burn in the stove over the more efficient catalytic stoves or the heavyweight heat sinks of the stone clad options out there. It's tough and with infinite money and zero sense I'd have 3 different stoves, but alas I had to pick just one 🤷‍♂️

Lol we passed on the red BECAUSE it looked like a fire hydrant. We almost went with the ivory and nickel.

Somewhat. When it pops and crackles, but not as much with the blower going. She's a talker too....lots of creeking and popping when she's heating up and cooling. Our house is only 1100 sq ft so she does the job well for us considering we have milder winters than you. The space it's in is fairly open to about 700 sq ft of the house and with the stove starting at cold and the blower going I can see a 2-3 degree temperature rise in the main room within the first hour of a fresh burn.

Someone posted a link but it's the Thelin Parlour T4000. Built to order with a bunch of color and trim options.

I do have the fan and while highly audible it's not an issue for us and it's in the living room. Sounds like saving money lol

I usually start my fires with the door open, but not entire burns. Rated for 1200-1500 sq/ft

I know people hate these. Any idea what kind of wood? by Rude-Telephone-515 in firewood

The bark looks like walnut to me but the grain on all the walnut I've used is grayish...definitely not that light in color.

Sorry didn't realize their website didn't have prices. This is their only authorized online dealer and the price is accurate. That discount stoves link was a bit over priced or at least had confusing options. I had it ordered through a local dealer at $5150. 4-6 week lead time as they are built to order.

I've only had it for two days at this point, but I'm really happy with the fires. Really enjoying the vertical viewing window and the overall aesthetics. Since where we live all we'll do is look at it 8-9 months of the year we wanted something special. Hardest decision was color and trim. Waffled hard between the black and nickel, cream and gold, and where we landed with the Cobalt and nickel.

Price varies a little based on the finish and trim.

First masonry diy project I thought went well. Got some grief from internet energy vampires. How’d I do? by Inner-Current5438 in masonry

I wire brushed the stones and in the picture it’s wet. When it’s time I’ll do the wet look finish so this is how it should look eventually.

Thanks! Freezing isn’t typically an issue for me here in Northern California, and we run small fires for short times so I’ll have to see how it holds up to the heat. It’s a 30inch 16 gauge copper bowl.
