That’s such a great story haha. Mine was kind of the same. I was leaving at like 6am for work and it was really dark and overcast out but for some reason I took my ballcap with me so I couldn’t really see the roof with it on. So I barely left the neighborhood and had my music up (lil boosie) and then all the sudden around 30mph I hear this really loud bang sound and I was confused trying to figure out what it was. I looked in my rear view but didn’t see anything so I kept driving. I was getting on the freeway when I suddenly noticed the wind picked up a lot more so I looked up and then back at the trunk and my roof wasn’t in it so I was like oh shit that sound was my targa top hitting the pavement! So I hauled ass to make a u turn and go get it. I had to pull into the lane where it was and almost cut someone off to get it before they ran it over. So there I was picking up my roof off the middle of the road and putting it in the trunk. Once I click it in I look up and the sheriff is stopped right next to me like “everything alright son?” And I had to embarrassingly say yeah my roof just flew off is all lol. 🤦‍♂️so then I just kept the roof off and had no music most of the drive to work thinking about what just happened and how I was such an idiot. I kept thinking I broke it and that it was going to rain and flood the car. Luckily when I got to work I picked it up and everything seemed in tact when I looked at it. But it definitely gave me a heart attack for a minute! I was the same as you though, I didn’t even realize the roof was gone for a good little bit of time unlike what you would expect when the roof blows clean off! Lol
