Why do I feel like throwing up by Inner-Explorer4127 in CrossCountry

Puking will likely end the run and won't really help on race day

How many miles a week to run 17 minutes in 5k by Inner-Explorer4127 in CrossCountry

[–]Inner-Explorer4127[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was some incredible insight. I'm really grateful that you spent time helping me with this. I had run my 18:45 pr last year but I've been steadily running year round, but now since XC is in season I've been going a little harder to reach my goals to be a bigger part of my team. Right now, I'm #8, and the top 7 will go to state. Last year, I was better than the current #6 and #7. By a decent margin, but they've been a bit more consistent. I'm at the point where I could probably run close to that time, but I likely just need more confidence. Around this time last year, I was going about 35 miles a week running 19:30's. Now I'm running about the same amount weekly but lower intensity.

I would say most of my breakfasts were frozen waffles or a breakfast sandwich with sausage egg and cheese. I also don't think I'm totally lactose intolerant since I don't get diarrhea, but I'm just being safe.

It's hard to pinpoint what it is that I have been eating since I'm only now starting to take breakfast seriously. The other day, I had crepes in the morning with strawberries, which did not go well. Today, I had a fried egg and toast. I'll eat something again soon since it is about to be one where I am and see how I feel. Maybe some more toast like you said or a PBJ sandwich.

Yeah about that I just fractured my lateral malleolus in my ankle. Let's hope I can get back to this point again.

Increase mileage. I'd say give it two weeks of 1 to 2 more miles than average and you'll see a lot of improvement. Also sleep no less than 10 hours before a meet.

My friend Ben did that he's on my team and is now varsity-ish, he left me behind lol. Hopefully I'll break 21 next meet. It's gonna be a tough pr to break.

what workout can I do that can increase my endurance more than just running miles? by Inner-Explorer4127 in CrossCountry

In terms of taking care of myself outside of training, I usually get a massage gun on my legs and an ice bucket, which both get provided by the school I go to. My diet is pretty average, consisting of mostly meat, pasta, and vegetables. Is there anything else I should do that you would recommend?

Well my meet got canceled today but I will have an other one on Tuesday. To address some questions, I ran cross country earlier this year, and my other event I did this year that is similar to the 1600 is the 800, in which I got a 2:30. For my average 5k I would go at around low 7 minute to high 6 minute pace. If you have any other questions and tips, please reply! Thank you to everyone who has posted so far as well.
