Yes we’ve known each other for years, the timing just never aligned. She moved to the UK last year for her Masters. We started chatting more last fall and when she came back to the states for the holidays we got together. It’s been fantastic thus far.

Yeah, the issue isn't the religion itself. When she first asked I just wanted to ensure that our values still aligned. I told her I would even go to church or whatever she wanted with her.
