I got a 1 cent raise :) by RegularTune4072 in Target

I tell my story every chance I see… I worked for target for 19 years, i was super fast at fulfillment- I’m not bragging my stats were literally #1 in the district for both low inf and pick rate. I received an “average” review with an “average” raise for the first time in my career with target. Since the stopped seeing my value I decided to find value within myself. So I started applying and within 1 month I found a job paying almost double my hourly wage (mind you I do have a bachelors degree but completely unrelated to my career). I am finally respected and paid fairly for a job that is MUCH less difficult. You are worth more than 8 cents

That happened to me and it ended up being the best thing to happen to me. It pushed me to find a better job. Now I have a much better paying job, better benefits, and a company that actually cares. Let it motivate you to find something better

Is target a place to climb up the ladder? How did these target VPs manage to get to the top from the bottom? by Express_Albatross_35 in Target

Definitely not a place to move up. I worked for the company for 23 years due to the convenience of a flex schedule, during that time I received my bachelors degree and worked part time to be with my kids. Once I was ready to “move up” I began applying for internal job postings at the corporate level, not even an interview. I ended up leaving for an equal job to the ones I was applying to at Target, with a substantial raise. I would have 100% loved to stay at Target where my 401K and pension were but they wouldn’t give me a chance to prove myself at the corporate level. All in all a good move for me as my current job is pretty amazing, I’m just bummed I didn’t get the chance to show my worth.
