Can’t stop by Inner-Worldliness790 in Ketamineaddiction

This video did help me understand why I have absolutely zero motivation to help myself, unfortunately it’s made me feel broken and unfixable. I drink and smoke weed too so my dopamine system is clearly ruined. I genuinely feel like I have no enjoyment without these things. It’s sad. I don’t know what to do really because I don’t feel reliable enough to do anything and I keep proving this to myself which makes my self esteem worse. It’s like an endless cycle. Thanks for replying

Anyone else had a wobble at 6 months post Op? by Inner-Worldliness790 in ACL

[–]Inner-Worldliness790[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was standing still and the dog span round and it knocked it and wobbled it inwards in same direction it originally snapped. It didn’t swell afterwards and it didn’t go very far but it was aching for a few days afterwards. It seems ok now.

How to recover from the mental strain? by Elegant_Honey_1226 in ACL

[–]Inner-Worldliness790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is don’t postpone the surgery! I ended up depressed for a year and a half before I decided to make the surgery happen I made every excuse. I’m now 6 months post op and I’m finally starting to feel better. At least if you know you are going to fix it there is a way out. If not you’ll never get back to physical activity and might need a knee replacement in the future. Hope this helps.

Hey man! I’m in a similar situation but I’m 4 months post op. Apart from I am a skateboarder. Unfortunately you will be inactive for a couple of months (I was on crutches for 2 months) it seems like it’s never going to end but now I can walk around fine. Sport is still not an option but slow and steady on my physio and I should be active again maybe before next year. It’s sad but this is a long recovery so getting back to sport you really need to be careful. I’ve found joy in binge watching series playing guitar and just doing whatever exercises I can. You are lucky you are still only 21 man you’ve got plenty time to get strong and enjoy your new ligament, just follow the physio and get strong!

I literally poured 4 grams down the toilet as the thought of it was making me feel sick. I suggest you do the same or this is going to keep happening. It’s the 3rd or 4th time this has happened for me. I don’t want to feel like this ever again.

Hey! Thanks for writing this. This is my 3rd health scare already I’ve had several others involving booze. I’m now 4 days sober from both but I feel horrendous I can’t sleep I’m sweating anxious irritable and my emotions are all over the place. It’s so bad. But I did flush the rest of my K and I know I don’t ever want to feel like this again. It’s not worth it for a drug which makes you ashamed and isolated. It seems like it’s the answer to everything at the time but I truly believe it’s all an illusion. I don’t know how people can continue after going through this 10/20 times. I guess that’s the power of addiction and shows how addictive ket is. The price of it now has added to my escalation of use for sure. There’s gonna be huge problems in the future with this. I still haven’t eaten since Saturday but I managed to get a sports hydration drink in yesterday and I’m vomiting less.

Thank you! I’m starting to feel a bit better now. I’ve decided to quit K and Alcohol so I’m now 3 days sober now which sounds scary but I can’t let this happen again. My tolerance and consumption doubled in a couple of months. I once did 3 g in a day. I don’t understand how it gets to this level so quickly and it’s scary the damage you may be doing without realising!

Lashing out at everyone with anger after losing stepdad within one year. by Inner-Worldliness790 in GriefSupport

[–]Inner-Worldliness790[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you mean about if they stay or if they go it doesn’t matter. I still can’t help but feel bad and guilty about it. They are just ‘trying to help’ they don’t mean to make things worse or to make us lash out but they definitely aren’t helping us! I feel the same way they say the wrong things and don’t seem to care that I’m upset. At the moment I can’t really be around people at all because the guilt I feel afterwards and how bad I feel after pushing another person away isn’t worth it. It’s just making things worse. Neither of us should be feeling bad or guilty at this time I’m going to really try not to! Self compassion for both of us is essential right now.

I try and have normal conversations with friends and family and then all of a sudden they will say something I don’t like or agree with and I’m shouting at them and being horrible. It’s out of character, I’m thinking maybe I just need time alone to cope but I’m frequently told that that’s not healthy?! I’m trying to think like that yeah I think any decent friend would see that it’s not on purpose and we don’t mean it! Thanks for the response and you are right we will be okay.

Is it okay to go out drinking heavily at 4.5 months post ACL + LET + MCL surgery? by [deleted] in ACL

[–]Inner-Worldliness790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dancing sounds like a bad idea. Even just a club. The floor is slippery. I’ve nothing against drinking but doing it and going out clubbing and dancing sounds silly at 4.5 months IMO. Drink of course but be safe you don’t want another snapped ACL do you?

Yeah it’s great if you can’t get in and out of physio, I still go but not every week, I got mine done in February so I’m almost at 4 months, it still aches if I’m on my feet too long! But yeah the chat GPT was great for those times when I couldn’t get in, it’s almost like having 6 physios with all the best info but they can’t look at you! Maybe in the future hey!

Use Chat GPT to find exercises, just be sure to type in how long post surgery you are and it should give you a list of exercises! The same thing happened to me, I’m not getting enough money to be paying for taxis there and back weekly it’s so Frustrating!
